During a recent Airbnb property shoot in Ternate, Cavite, we were unexpectedly given access to a private beach area of the resort.

For a moment, the camera was put aside.

The cool, strong breeze coming from the hills, the quiet surroundings, and the slightly hazy view of Bataan, Corregidor, and El Fraile made it feel like we had stumbled into a little escape of our own.

Lorenz, my assistant, and I were actually ready to take a quick swim. Of course, that was the plan—assuming we were allowed and, more importantly, if time permitted. 😄

Instead, we ended up sitting down with Kuya B**g, the caretaker, listening to his stories about the place.

I asked him if the beach was clean. He said it was, although some floating water lilies and bits of trash occasionally get carried over by the wind and currents from the Manila side. I wish I had brought my telephoto lens. There were long lines of water lilies floating in the distance—something I would have loved to photograph properly.

But honestly, even without the right lens, it was one of those moments you simply remember.

A quiet beach. Strong winds. Hazy islands in the distance. No rush. Just a few minutes to breathe and take it all in.

I only wish we had stayed a little longer to witness the sunset.
