The whole reason I started my photography business was to go against the mainstream way of family photos that were stiff, too posed, and held a lot of pressure over kids to have them sit still for 1-2 hours and smile until their cheeks hurt. And yes, I know, I understand how these posed photos are important for family heirlooms. But what if we broke those stereotypical walls down and allowed ourselves to just.. be? What if we compromised by allowing kids to just be kids but still giving them the responsibility to smile well and contribute to yearly heirlooms? What if we allowed ourselves space to be free digital noise for an hour and see what full intention meant for our family?

It always brings me so much joy when parents who reach out for my services understand the importance of just being present. And more often than not, it is through this calm open space that I am allowed to capture true connection in all its glory. 🤍

We shot this maternity session right at this beautiful home — cool breeze rolling in, soft morning light, and a whole lot of anticipation in the room. This is baby number three on the way, and the two big sisters could barely contain themselves. They kept touching mom’s belly, whispering to their soon-to-be sibling, already so sure they were going to be the best big sisters in the world. 🤍

There’s a different kind of joy in a third pregnancy… less nervous energy, more quiet confidence, and this beautiful sense of “we know exactly how full our hearts are about to get.” You could feel it in the way mom and dad looked at their girls, and the way the girls looked at that belly like it held the best secret ever.

We didn’t need a fancy studio or an elaborate setup, just their home, the beautiful Tagaytay breeze, and a family getting ready to welcome their newest addition.

There’s a light in hospital rooms that you can’t recreate anywhere else. It’s soft, it’s a little messy, it’s real.. and about a day after this family welcomed their girl into the world, I got to be there to capture it. Mom still tired from labor, dad running on adrenaline and coffee, older sibling meeting the newest member of their family for the very first time. Four, officially. 🤍

In case you’re wondering, this is what I call a Fresh 48 session. And if you haven’t heard of it, here’s the idea: within the first 48 hours after birth, I come straight to your hospital room (or birth center) with my camera, and I document exactly what’s happening. No posing, no pressure, no “let’s fix your hair.” Just the real, unfiltered first hours of your family becoming whole.

Those first hours don’t come back. The tiny wrist bands, the “just born” wrinkles, the exhausted-but-glowing look on mom’s face, it’s gone within days. A Fresh 48 session freezes it in time before it fades.

It takes the pressure off you. You don’t have to plan anything, get dressed up, or set the scene. I work around you, quietly, quickly, and with as little disruption to your rest as possible.

The story is complete. Not just the baby, the whole family adjusting in real time. The hospital bracelet. The tiny hand around a finger. The big sibling’s face meeting theirs for the first time. It’s a chapter, not just a portrait.

Some moments are bigger than the photo itself. 🤍

A whole family together… laughing, teasing, running around, and creating the kind of beautiful chaos that feels so familiar.

There’s something about clan shoots that just get me and tug on my heart. The kids playing the way their parents once did, the siblings finding their old rhythm again, the stories being retold, the laughter that feels like it has been passed down through generations.

And then there are the grandparents who quietly watch everyone they love in one place. Seeing the family they started grow into something even bigger than they imagined. Watching the legacy they’ve built.

Because years from now, it won’t just be the posed photos they remember.

They’ll remember the silly jokes. The loud laughter. The hugs that lasted a little longer. The feeling of being surrounded by the people who have always been home.

This is why I love what I do, preserving the moments that families don’t realize are becoming memories until they’re already gone.

This is what I get to do – step into your world for a little while and freeze the sweetest, most fleeting parts of it. The way your little one reaches for you. The way you look at them when they’re not looking back. These are the moments that matter, and they deserve to be remembered.
