THANK GOD FOR THE IFI-ECP CONCORDAT! PRAISE HIM FOR THE COMMON WITNESS OF THESE CHURCHES!

We celebrate today the Concordat between the Iglesia Filipina Independiente (IFI) and the Episcopal Church in the Philippines (ECP) signed in February 17, 1997 and the common work shared even before the signing with the mother Church, The Episcopal Church of the United States of America (now simply known as TEC). We praise God for the gift of relationship and thank him that in Christ Jesus this partnership enables the two Churches to give common witness to the world and to the Filipino people.

We pray that the good Lord continue to bless and nurture this concordat in his truth and work, that together these two Churches provide credible witness to the world and outgrow their past being called the “Churches in Silence” as they continue to heed the calling of the Lord Jesus to become the salt and the light of the world and the conscience of the nation as fired up by the Holy Spirit.

We commit to God almighty these two Churches as we pray:

Heavenly Father, you have called us in the Body of your Son Jesus Christ to continue his work of reconciliation and reveal you to the world: Forgive us the sins which tear us apart; help us to proclaim the good news of your love, embolden us to pursue reconciliation, justice and peace among our people towards the renewing of the world, give us the courage to overcome our fears and to seek that unity which is your gift and your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
