For more than eight years, I have lived my life with purpose despite having blurry eyesight and other health struggles since then — especially from last December to the present.
During school, it was really hard for me to see things clearly, and that made a lot of things difficult for me — not just academically. Because of the different hardships in life, it took me a long time before I was able to get proper medical care.
But even with that struggle, I still pushed through.
In JHS, SHS, and even during my college graduation, I was an academic achiever. And throughout my college years, I continued to do well.
With this same eyesight, I explored so much.
Since SHS, as a Humanities and Social Sciences student, I started writing — vintage-theme letters and appreciation tokens. I also write for the community: for awareness, for fundraising events, and feature writing. In college, I added photography, videography, modeling, and later on, arts and crafts.
And since then, we’ve also been into cooking.
I created and crafted pieces, and even with my limited vision, I was still able to produce beautiful work. I was also able to contribute to my former schools and to our community, from the local to the national level. Up to now, I am still fulfilling my passions, hobbies, aspirations, and purpose.
And currently, during my eyesight check-up, my eye grades are 400 and 425. To put it simply, my vision is more than double the normal blur. I just got my glasses on June 28, 2026.
Not everyone knows about my eyesight and health issues because I keep on creating beautiful and lasting pieces.
Having an eyesight corrector is not just about glasses. It helps me tell stories more — through photos, videos, writings, arts and crafts, cooking, and so much more. It is proof that I conquered it all, and that I am still conquering whatever comes my way.
It’s difficult in every event with this eyesight and health, yet, I finished them successfully.
For over three years, I have been joining photography events. I faced every struggle, but I was still able to produce good photos and videos.
In photography, I gave free photos with full ownership in one activity, and shared ownership in the last two.
During that same time, from 2023 to 2026, I also gave my free labor, free talent and skills, arts and crafts, and other community work. I’ve also given sponsorships for events and donations. I’ve contributed to good governance initiatives from the local to the national level. And I’ve made small donations to animal shelters in the country.
Despite battling current health issues and needing further medical care, I still choose to give, to share, and to be part of creating a better community.
Even though some people had bad intentions and hurt me deeply, I did not stop giving new people the benefit of the doubt and the chance to prove themselves. And despite all the suffering I experienced from other people, from childhood up to February, I remain kind and compassionate to everyone.
For over six years, from 2018 to 2026, I have been contributing to our society consistently. But even before that, I was already doing community work silently since I was a kid, in my own way. Yet some people still treated me badly.
