A Curated Collection of Editorial Portraits of Joel H. Garcia
An ongoing photographic project that brings together a powerful series of editorial portraits. Each image is thoughtfully crafted to go beyond likeness, capturing presence, character, and the deeper narrative of each subject.

Through a refined blend of direction and spontaneity, the collection highlights individuals who shape the Filipino identity across industries, artists, visionaries, and cultural icons. Every portrait is designed not just to document, but to elevate, transforming personalities into timeless visual statements that reflect the spirit of the nation.

This body of work stands as both a visual archive and a tribute, an enduring record of the faces, stories, and voices that define the Philippines today.

Just like the wedding of Dex and Rochelle, simplicity radiated throughout the day, quiet, effortless, and deeply felt. There was no need for excess, no need for grand gestures to prove anything. Every detail was intentional, every moment unforced.

It’s a reminder that the most beautiful weddings aren’t always the loudest or the most elaborate. Sometimes, they’re the ones that breathe, where love is allowed to exist naturally, without pressure or performance.

And in that space, simplicity becomes something powerful. Something unforgettable.

Before Alexandra Eala, there was Felix Barrientos 🇵🇭 one of Philippine tennis’ finest.

From a Wimbledon junior semifinalist to a SEA Games gold medalist, he carried the Filipino flag onto the global stage. A former World No. 180, a Davis Cup mainstay, and a competitor who stood toe-to-toe with some of the game’s greats, his legacy is built on discipline, pride, and quiet excellence.

Beyond the court, his story continues, proving that greatness evolves, but never fades. 🎾

After retiring, Barrientos made a surprising shift into international banking and finance, bringing the same discipline into a new arena. Now based in Singapore, he works in private banking for LGT Group, a testament to how champions redefine themselves beyond the sport.

The launch of the Tatak Pinoy Edition of The Philippines Yearbook stood as a powerful celebration of Filipino identity, excellence, and legacy.

Held at the grand ballroom of Grand Hyatt Manila, the evening brought together some of the country’s most influential figures, industry leaders, and visionaries, each one united by a shared purpose: to honor what it truly means to be proudly Filipino. Marking a significant milestone for the yearbook, the Tatak Pinoy theme shined a spotlight on the brands, stories, and individuals who have shaped the nation’s cultural and economic landscape.

The night unfolded with elegance and pride, as each page of the yearbook came to life through the people behind the stories, those who continue to define and elevate the Filipino voice across generations.

This edition was photographed by Chief Photographer Joel H. Garcia, capturing not just moments, but meaningful frames that reflect the heart, pride, and story of the Filipino.

Special thanks to Chairman and CEO Gracie Go, Executive Editor Happee Sy-Go, and President & Publisher Vernon Go for their vision, leadership, and unwavering dedication in bringing this remarkable edition to life.

A reminder that behind every brand, every name, and every success story is a Filipino spirit worth celebrating.
