Whether you just rescued a dog, brought home a new puppy, or are struggling with a sudden change in your pet's behavior—patience is your greatest tool.
Dogs don't process change the same way we do. They need time to realize they are finally safe. Here is the 3-3-3 Blueprint for a happy dog:
🗓️ 3 DAYS: To decompress. They may feel overwhelmed, nervous, or scared. They might not want to eat or may hide under the bed. Let them be.
🗓️ 3 WEEKS: To settle in. This is when their true personality starts to show. They realize this might be home, and they start testing boundaries (and your patience!).
🗓️ 3 MONTHS: To build trust. By now, they feel a sense of security and a true bond with you. They finally know they belong.
The Lesson: Building a bond isn't a race; it's a journey. To us, it’s just a few months. To them, it’s the start of a whole new life.
