Imagine this is what you hear outside the reception venue doors. 🎤

Your event host building the momentum, getting you ready for your grand entrance.

The moment is here. You’re almost there, ready to be introduced at your wedding reception. ✨

Happening now! The host enjoying the dance party while the DJ husband takes over the beats! 🎧

A host’s job is to sell the idea! 🎤

It’s not just about the game or the prize. It’s about making guests want to participate, stay until the end, and trust that what you’re promising is worth their time. Because when you say ₱5K, it better be ₱5,000 pesos and not 5 kilos of rice! 😂

Because event hosts are also athletes in a way. 🎤

We need training and warm-ups for our voice before we get into hosting or doing an intense voiceover.

Here’s a 15-second glimpse of what I do before an intense voiceover for a live show. I condition my mind and body, hydrate, loosen up, do vocalization exercises, work on my posture, release tension, and more.

Just like every athlete, I prime myself before getting the job done so I can deliver the best way possible.

🎤Chaos everywhere, distractions all around, but I’m locked into my script.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at my voiceover for an awards night without an event director, working alongside the events committee.

You can see me switching from one role to another. One moment, I’m a team player. The next, I’m stepping in as an event director. Then, I’m back to being a voiceover talent, locked into my script despite the total darkness and the distractions around me, just to perfect the highlight performance of the entire evening.

It was a make-or-break moment, and I pulled it off.

And this is how it’s done.💪

Do you want to know why I enjoy and find fulfillment in mentoring aspiring hosts for 7 years now?

This is one of the reasons why. ❤️

Behind every seamless program opening are several things I prepare beforehand. 🎤

We test the audio and coordinate with the relevant suppliers, especially the lights and sound team, to make sure that when the voiceover plays, we can start with impact.

Why? Is it so the host can be the main character? No. ❌

It’s to grab people’s attention, so I can use my presence and aura to redirect that attention to what truly matters: celebrating the stars of the event.

Because for me, hosting isn’t about being the center of attention. It’s about knowing how to capture it and knowing where to direct it.
