As Stateans and young individuals, we have a role to play in building a better future. Through understanding, kindness, and respect for one another, we can help create a world where diversity is valued, every voice matters, and no one is left behind.

Mental health is an essential part of our well-being, shaping how we think, feel, connect, and navigate the challenges of everyday life. Yet, not every struggle is visible, and not everyone finds it easy to express what they are going through.

This World Mental Health Day, let us create a culture where compassion comes before judgment and listening comes before assumptions. A simple act of kindness, a genuine conversation, or the willingness to be present for someone can offer comfort when it is needed most.

Remember that it is okay to pause, to take things one day at a time, and to ask for help when life feels overwhelming. You do not have to face every challenge alone, and taking care of your mental health is never something to be ashamed of.

Let us continue to build a community where everyone feels safe to speak, free to seek support, and valued beyond what they show to the world. Check on your friends, listen with an open heart, and remind one another that no one should have to struggle in silence.

The 𝟐𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲 of 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 - 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 was held on October 05, 2026, at the MPB, CBSUA-Pasacao. The program started at 9:00 AM with 372 awardees.

With the theme, “𝑪𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑬𝒙𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆, 𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒍, 𝑰𝒏𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑭𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔,” the event recognized the hard work and achievements of the students.

The event opened with a welcome address from the Dean of the College of Education, 𝑫𝒓. 𝑬𝒍𝒎𝒂 𝑨. 𝑹𝒐𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒔, 𝑬𝒅𝑫. This was followed by the introduction of the guest speaker by the Program Chairperson of BSES, 𝑮𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆 𝑪. 𝑬𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂, 𝑴𝑺𝑬𝑺.

The inspirational talk was delivered by the Guest Speaker, 𝑴𝒂. 𝑱𝒐𝒚𝒄𝒆 𝑨𝒏𝒏 𝑷. 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒐, 𝑴𝑺𝒄𝒊, Class of 2013. She discussed the learning crisis and how it is not only about the quality of teaching but is also affected by economic and environmental factors.

In her final message to all awardees:

“𝑨𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒂 𝒑𝒊𝒆𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒑𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒓. 𝑫𝒐 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒔𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒚 𝒂𝒊𝒎 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒇𝒖𝒍, 𝒂𝒊𝒎 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒕. 𝑳𝒆𝒕 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔.”

This means awards are not the end goal. What matters is how the students will use their knowledge to serve the community.

The awarding of the plaque of appreciation to the guest speaker was held at 9:27 AM, followed by the distribution of certificates to the academic awardees and a photo opportunity at 10:40 AM.

The program concluded with closing remarks from 𝑺𝒊𝒓 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒑 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊 𝑷. 𝑭𝒊𝒈𝒖𝒓𝒂, 𝑴𝑴𝑰𝑻𝑯𝑴 and was adjourned at 10:47 AM.

This recognition is just one stepping stone. May this serve as an inspiration to everyone.

September 21, 1972.

Fifty-four years ago, a declaration changed the course of Philippine history. Press freedom was silenced, lives were lost, and voices were suppressed.

Today, we do not just remember a date. We remember the lessons, the sacrifices, and the courage of those who stood for truth and freedom.

May this anniversary remind us of our responsibility to protect our democracy and uphold the rights fought for by those before us.
