Oyang, Gulayan to ride in Araw cycling event

BRONZE medalists Roland Oyang Jr. and John Carlo Gulayan will both see action in the Mountain Bike Cross Short Circuit [XCC] on March 15 at Magtuod in Davao City.

This was confirmed by Davao City Sports Organizers Association, Incorporated president Azucena Corazon Brown.

Oyang Jr. was the bronze medalist in the recent 2026 Philippine National Championship for MTB XCE.

He also won the silver in the Batang Pinoy MTB XCT 2025.

Gulayan, on the other hand, bagged the bronze medal in the Batang Pinoy MTB XCT 2025.


“We're also expecting racers from all over Mindanao,” said Brown.

The MTB event is expected to get 200 riders.


Meanwhile, the Road Bike and Fixed Gear Uphill Sprint Challenge will be on March 14 at Langub.

“Whether you’re racing for the podium or riding for passion, this is your time to shine!” said Brown.

Around 100 participants are expected to join the road bike and fixie event on March 14.

All riders must comply with requirements to ensure a smooth and secure event for everyone.

The registration center is at JZee Bike Shop.

The action-packed 89th Araw ng Dabaw Cycling Event is organized by DCSOAI in coordination with the Sports Development Division.
