A New Korea Town will rise soon in the Malate District, Manila.
There are a lot of Korean restaurants and many Korean tourists visited in the Philippines. With Manila City, they are envisioning to make that area, Malate area, as Korea Town.
In addition, Han said that Korea Retailers Association and the City of Manila are helping with this. The Ambassador is referring to the Remedios Circle in Malate as the proposed site. Furthermore, he already asked Mayor Isko Moreno for his support. In fact, the Mayor said that he plans to meet with the Korean Business Association regarding the proposal.

Han stated that 1.6 million Koreans visited the Philippines last year. Although he also said that he promised to bring 2 million tourists during his term.

Philippines and Korea are celebrating 70 years of their bilateral relations. More so, this was established in 1949. This was when the Republic of Korea was recognized by the Philippines as a sovereign state.
