ANG BIYAYA SA PAGIGING MAHABAGIN

MATEO 5:7

I. Ang Katangian: "Mapapalad ang mga Mahabagin"

Sa bahaging ito, binibigyang-diin kung ano ang tunay na kahulugan ng pagiging mahabagin sa pananaw ng Bibliya.

A. Kahulugan ng Habag (Mercy): Hindi lamang ito pakikiramay (pity), kundi isang aktibong pagkilos upang tulungan ang nangangailangan o patawarin ang nagkasala.

B. Higit pa sa Katarungan: Ang habag ay pagpapakita ng kabutihan sa mga taong sa tingin natin ay "hindi karapat-dapat."

C. Ang Pinagmulan: Ang ating pagiging mahabagin ay bunga ng ating pagkilala na tayo mismo ay nakatanggap ng habag mula sa Diyos.

II. Ang Kapahayagan: Paano Ito Ipinapakita?

Ang pagiging mahabagin ay hindi nananatiling damdamin lamang; ito ay may gawa.

A. Pagpapatawad sa Nagkasala: Ang pagpili na huwag magtanim ng galit o maghiganti.

B. Pagtulong sa Nagdurusa: Pagbibigay ng tulong (materyal, emosyonal, o espirituwal) sa mga dumaranas ng hirap.

C. Pag-unawa sa Kahinaan ng Iba: Pagkakaroon ng pasensya sa halip na mabilis na paghusga.

III. Ang Pangako: "Sapagkat Sila’y Kahahabagan"

Dito makikita ang "banal na tugon" o ang gantimpala mula sa Diyos.

A. Habag mula sa Tao: Sa pangkalahatan, ang taong mabait at mahabagin ay nakakakuha rin ng respeto at habag mula sa kapwa.

B. Habag mula sa Diyos: Ito ang pinakamahalaga. Bagaman ang kaligtasan ay biyaya, ipinapakita ng Bibliya na ang mga tunay na nakaranas ng habag ng Diyos ay natural na nagiging mahabagin din (Mateo 6:14-15).

C. Katiyakan sa Paghuhukom: Ang mga nagpakita ng habag ay tatanggap ng habag sa harap ng trono ng Diyos (Santiago 2:13).

Hamon sa Buhay
Ang pagiging mahabagin ay hindi palaging madali, lalo na kung tayo ang nasaktan. Ngunit bilang mga tagasunod ni Kristo, tinatawag tayo na maging "daluyan" ng Kanyang habag sa mundong puno ng p**t.
> Tandaan: Ang habag ay pag-ibig na kumikilos.

I. Ang Katangian: "Ang mga Dukha sa Espiritu"
> Ano ang ibig sabihin nito?

= Hindi ito tumutukoy sa kakulangan ng pera o materyal na bagay.

= Ito ay ang pagkilala sa sariling espirituwal na pagkabangkarote sa harap ng Diyos.

>Ang Atityud ng Puso:

=Ang pag-amin na wala tayong kakayahang iligtas ang ating sarili.

= Ang pagpapakumbaba at pag-alis ng kapalaluan (pride).

II. Ang Kalagayan: "Mapapalad" (Blessed)
>Higit pa sa Kaligayahan:

= Ang salitang Griyego na Makarios ay nangangahulugang banal na kagalakan na hindi nakadepende sa sitwasyon.

> Bakit sila mapalad?
=Dahil ang pag-amin sa ating pangangailangan sa Diyos ang nagbubukas ng pinto para sa Kanyang biyaya.

III. Ang Pangako: "Sa Kanila ang Kaharian ng Langit"
> Kasalukuyan at Hinaharap:

= Hindi lamang ito pangako sa langit pagdating ng araw; nagsisimula ang pamumuno ng Diyos sa buhay ng tao ngayon pa lang.

> Ang Kabalintunaan (Paradox):
=Kung sino ang "walang-wala," sila ang nagmamay-ari ng "lahat" (ang kaharian).

Konklusyon

Ang pagiging "dukha sa espiritu" ay ang pundasyon ng lahat ng iba pang Beatitudes. Kung hindi natin aaminin na kailangan natin ang Diyos, hindi natin mararanasan ang Kanyang pag-aliw, katarungan, at kahabagan.

A. The Foundation: Trusting in the character and promises of God rather than current circumstances.

B. The Anchor: Relying on the "unseen" reality of Christ’s work.

C. The Confidence: Having "assurance of things hoped for" (Hebrews 11:1) even when the path is unclear.

III. The Mistake of the Christian Life: "...not by sight."

A. The Limitation of Senses: Physical eyes only see the "temporal" (temporary) struggles, not the "eternal" glory.

B. The Danger of Fear: If we only look at the "giants" in the land or the storms on the water, we lose heart.

C. The Rejection of Surface Logic: Refusing to let outward appearances dictate internal peace or moral choices.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?"

B.The Impossible Barrier: The Greek implies a challenge; it dares any force in the universe to try and sever the connection between the Savior and the saved.

II. The Catalog of Earthly Adversity

Paul lists seven specific hardships that might seem to indicate God has abandoned His people:

1. Tribulation: General pressure or "squeezing" from outward circumstances.

2. Distress: Inward anxiety or feeling trapped in a "tight place."

3. Persecution: Suffering specifically for one's faith or identity in Christ.

4.Famine: Physical deprivation and the lack of basic necessities.

5.Nakedness: Extreme poverty or vulnerability; being stripped of dignity.

6. Peril: Constant exposure to danger or the threat of harm.

7. Sword: The ultimate threat of violent death or martyrdom.

III. The Implied Conclusion

A. External vs. Internal: While these seven forces can affect the body and the mind, they have no jurisdiction over the spirit or God's decree.

B. Suffering is not Absence: Paul clarifies that the presence of suffering is not evidence of the absence of Christ’s love.

A. The Pursuit: This describes an active reaching out or "longing" for wealth.

B. The Departure: "They have erred from the faith." The pursuit of wealth often acts as a centrifugal force, pulling a person away from their spiritual center and convictions.

III. The Final Consequence: The Personal Toll
* "...and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

A. Self-Inflicted Harm: The verse emphasizes that the pain is "pierced through"—a vivid image of a self-inflicted wound.

B. The "Many Sorrows": This refers to the anxiety, broken relationships, and moral compromise that often accompany the obsessive pursuit of riches.

"Resist the devil,"

A. Active Opposition: To "resist" isn't passive waiting; it’s standing your ground. It implies an active "No" to temptation, lies, or fear.

B. The Weaponry: In a broader biblical context, this resistance is fueled by faith and the "Sword of the Spirit" (the Word of God).

III. The Result: Deliverance

"and he will flee from you."

A. The Divine Promise: This isn't a "maybe." When the first two conditions (submission and resistance) are met, the enemy loses his foothold.

B. The Shift in Power: It’s a reminder that while the struggle is real, the enemy is not invincible.
