National Award for Best School and Studio Photography Provider RED Images is a second-generation family legacy rooted from a family of photographers. It was founded 2005 but originated in the 1950’s and was known back then as “Dare’s Photography”, one of the pioneers in the
school photography and studio portrait industry up to this day. With a history going back over 65 years, RED Images is one of the top ranks when it comes to growing service related endeavors. This is strongly evident with its management, employees, timeless quality, premiere service, facilities and creative products. The brand “RED” derives from the names of its founders, husband and wife Ricardo and Epifania Dare. Hailing from Pampanga, Mr. Ricardo E. was a hardworking man and his whole life was dedicated to photography. He started as an apprentice and cleaned floors until his mentor taught him how to use the camera. Little did he know, the camera would take him to new heights. His peers knew him as “The Photoman” as he spent most of his experience in photography at the University of Santo Tomas, dating back to nineteen years of service together with his wife Mrs. Epifania Bandiola Dare. They worked hand in hand with Mrs. Dare as their secretary and coordinator for X’or Studios, the official photographer of the said university at that time. He was indeed a man of honesty and service. His passion towards his craft was admirable. Because of his know-how and diligence in the field of photography, he was promoted to chief photographer of X’or Studios. During his term, he worked with the guidance of different Dominican priests; namely Fr. Antonio Gonzalez O.P., Rev. Fr. Fausto Gomez, O.P., and Fr. Eladio Neira. Mr. Dare’s main assignment back then was to take charge of all school activities in the University of Santo Tomas, especially the ‘UST Thomasian’. Aside from the University of Santo Tomas, he was also chief photographer for the University of the Philippines, in Diliman and Los Baños; Colegio de San Juan de Letran and Mapúa Institute of Technology, all under X’or Studio. Devoted to his family and with the growing need to support them, Mr. Dare ask permission from the owners of X’or Studios that he would like to leave the company in order for him to start his own photography business, which they thankfully approved of. He started to offer his photography services to different schools which were not under X’or’s contract. Dare built a good reputation of his own in work, he was given the opportunity to be the official photographer of the La Consolacion group of schools in central Luzon. He took charge of providing photography services for prestigious La Consolacion schools such as La Consolacion College, Caloocan; La Consolacion University of the Philippines and La Consolacion College, Manila. Clients, peers and those who had the chance to work with Mr. Dare would remember him as someone approachable and easy to talk to. Always managing to maintain a good relationship with his clients over the years; a man contented and always grateful with what he possessed and a man who was determined to sacrifice and strive for his future and his loved ones. Dare aspired to expand his photography business. After working in Dare’s Photography for a couple of years, he and his wife were able to set aside savings. That hard-earned money was used to bring about RED Images. RED’s vision and mission was to provide excellent photographs and provide quality service to its clients. RED wanted to tell potential customers “Dare to experience the difference when you have your pictures taken at RED Images” .
