TESDA and TESDA Manila Training Assessment Center on The “Community Based Trainers Methodology Course” is a course that aims to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to become a qualified community-based trainer, who can deliver quality and relevant skills training to the poor and marginalized groups in the communities, such as persons with disabilities, out-of-school youth, women, indigenous people, and others.
The course covers four core competencies that are essential for a community-based trainer, namely: plan training sessions, facilitate learning sessions, supervise work-based learning, and conduct competency assessment.
The course also covers basic competencies that are common to all trainers, such as lead workplace communication, apply math and science principles in technical training, utilize IT applications in technical training, apply work ethics, values and quality principles, and others.
The course is competency-based, which means that you are assessed and certified based on your demonstration of the required competencies, rather than on the number of hours or credits that you completed. The course is also flexible, which means that you can choose the mode of delivery that suits your needs and preferences, such as face-to-face, blended, or online.
The course is designed and developed by TESDA, in partnership with other stakeholders, such as local government units, non-government organizations, and people organizations, who are involved in the implementation and management of the community-based training programs.
The course is also aligned with the TESDA training regulations and standards, as well as with the national qualifications framework and the ASEAN qualifications reference framework.
By completing the course, you are expected to have the following benefits and outcomes:
• You are recognized and certified by TESDA as a community-based trainer.
• You are able to plan, facilitate, supervise, and assess skills training programs that are responsive, relevant, and accessible to the needs and demands of the target beneficiaries in the communities.
