Wanted sa Fisheries Code, Arestado sa Looc

LOOC, Occidental Mindoro — Arestado ang isang wanted person sa isinagawang operasyon ng Looc Municipal Police Station sa Barangay Guitna noong Hulyo 25.

Kinilala ng pulisya ang suspek na si alyas "Jomel," 27, na inaresto sa bisa ng Warrant of Arrest dahil sa kasong paglabag sa Section 92 ng Republic Act No. 10654 o Philippine Fisheries Code.

Nasa kustodiya na ng Looc Municipal Police Station ang suspek habang isinasailalim sa kaukulang disposisyon.

Ayon kay PCOL Ali Jose A. Duterte, Provincial Director ng Occidental Mindoro Police Provincial Office, patuloy ang kampanya ng kapulisan sa pagpapatupad ng batas at pagsisilbi ng mga warrant laban sa mga lumalabag sa batas.

HVI Timbog sa Buy-Bust sa Mamburao; Mahigit ₱1,000 Halagang Shabu Nasamsam

MAMBURAO, Occidental Mindoro — Arestado ang isang High Value Individual (HVI) sa isinagawang buy-bust operation ng pinagsanib na operatiba ng Mamburao Municipal Police Station (MDEU), Occidental Mindoro Police Provincial Office (PDEU), at Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) MIMAROPA noong July 27 sa Sitio Maasim, Brgy. Payompon.

Kinilala ng pulisya ang suspek na si alyas "Boy," 47, na nakatala bilang HVI.

Nasamsam mula sa suspek ang isang heat-sealed plastic sachet na naglalaman ng hinihinalang shabu na tumitimbang ng 0.211 gramo, na ibinenta umano sa isang poseur-buyer kapalit ng ₱1,000 buy-bust money.

Nasa kustodiya na ng Mamburao Municipal Police Station ang suspek at nahaharap sa kasong paglabag sa Section 5, Article II ng Republic Act No. 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Ayon kay PCOL Ali Jose A. Duterte, Provincial Director ng Occidental Mindoro Police Provincial Office, patuloy na paiigtingin ng pulisya, katuwang ang PDEA, ang kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga at hinikayat ang publiko na makipagtulungan sa pagbibigay ng impormasyon laban sa mga sangkot sa ipinagbabawal na droga.

Occidental Mindoro Police Undergo Annual Inventory of Fi****ms, Equipment

MAMBURAO, Occidental Mindoro — The Occidental Mindoro Police Provincial Office (OMPPO) underwent its annual logistics inspection and physical inventory of fi****ms and government-issued equipment as part of the Philippine National Police's asset accountability and property management program.

The inspection was conducted by the Regional Logistics and Research and Development Division (RLRDD) inspection team led by PLTCOL Danilo U. Driz Jr., Assistant Chief, covering fi****ms, mobility assets, ICT equipment, investigative and communication equipment, and other government-issued properties across all police units in the province.

All OMPPO offices and units prepared inventory records and Property Acknowledgment Receipts (PARs) to facilitate record reconciliation and verify the condition, accountability, and proper utilization of PNP assets.

The activity was carried out under the leadership of PCOL Ali Jose A. Duterte, Provincial Director, as part of the PNP's continuing efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability, and responsible management of government resources in support of efficient public service.

BONGABONG, Oriental Mindoro | Anti-Smoking, E-Bike Regulation, at AICS Ordinansa Tampok sa Ika-53 Regular na Sesyon ng Sangguniang Bayan ng Bongabong

BONGABONG, Oriental Mindoro — Tinalakay ng Sangguniang Bayan ng Bongabong sa ika-53 Regular na Sesyon noong Hulyo 27 ang ilang panukalang ordinansa at iba pang hakbang na nakatuon sa kalusugan, kaligtasan, at serbisyong panlipunan ng mga residente.

Pinangunahan ni Vice Mayor Jayson Barcelona ang sesyon na dinaluhan ng mga miyembro ng Sangguniang Bayan, Association of Barangay Captains (ABC), at Sangguniang Kabataan (SK).

Kabilang sa mga committee report ang mga panukalang Stray Animal Control and Responsible Ownership Ordinance of 2026, E-Bike Regulation and Road Safety Ordinance of 2026, pagbabawal sa paninigarilyo at va**ng sa mga pampublikong lugar at pribadong establisimyento, at regulasyon sa pagbebenta ng antimicrobial drugs upang maiwasan ang antimicrobial resistance.

Sa unang pagbasa, iniharap ang panukalang ordinansa na mag-iinstitusyonalisa sa pagbibigay ng agarang tulong pinansyal sa ilalim ng Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Program ng munisipyo.

Ipinagpatuloy naman sa ikalawang pagbasa ang panukalang Municipal Guarantee Letter Program, na magbibigay ng garantiya para sa gastusing medikal, ospital, diagnostic, at iba pang serbisyong pangkalusugan ng mga kwalipikadong residente.

Tinalakay rin ng konseho ang kahilingan para sa paglikha ng karagdagang Job Order positions sa Bids and Awards Committee Office, mga hinaing ng mga vendor ng Wet Public Market, aplikasyon para sa akreditasyon ng LAKASAN (Lakas ng Kababaihan Samahan ng Anilao), at ang Supplemental Investment Program No. 2 para sa taong 2026.

Tinanggap din ng Sangguniang Bayan para sa impormasyon ang mga resolusyon ng Sangguniang Panlalawigan na nagpapatibay sa ilang ordinansa ng bayan, kabilang ang pagbabago ng nomenklatura ng mga plantilla position at pag-ampon sa opisyal na logo ng Tanggapan ng Sangguniang Bayan at Vice Mayor. Kasama rin sa mga komunikasyong natanggap ang sertipikasyon ng Philippine Statistics Authority sa bilang ng populasyon ng Barangay Lisap.

₱60 Umento sa Minimum Wage sa NCR, Epektibo na; Aabot sa ₱780 ang Arawang Sahod sa January 2027

MANILA — Epektibo nitong July 25, ipinatutupad na ang unang bahagi ng ₱85 na dagdag-sahod sa minimum na sahod ng mga manggagawa sa pribadong sektor sa National Capital Region (NCR), ayon sa Wage Order No. NCR-27 ng Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB). Sa ilalim ng wage order, tumaas ng ₱60 ang arawang minimum na sahod ng mga manggagawa sa non-agriculture sector, mula ₱695 ay naging ₱755 kada araw. Samantala, ang minimum na sahod sa agriculture sector, gayundin sa service at retail establishments na may 15 o mas kaunting manggagawa at manufacturing establishments na may mas mababa sa 10 regular na empleyado, ay tumaas mula ₱658 tungo sa ₱718 kada araw. Nakatakda namang ipatupad ang ikalawang bahagi ng umento na ₱25 sa January 20, 2027, kaya aabot sa ₱780 ang arawang minimum na sahod sa non-agriculture sector at ₱743 naman sa agriculture at iba pang sakop na establisimyento. (Wages and Productivity Commission)

Ayon sa Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), humigit-kumulang 1.1 milyong minimum wage workers sa pribadong sektor sa Metro Manila ang inaasahang direktang makikinabang sa umento. Sinabi ni Labor Secretary Francis N. Tolentino na layunin ng wage increase na mapalakas ang purchasing power ng mga manggagawa sa harap ng implasyon at pagtaas ng iba pang gastusin. Nagbigay ng update si Vice Mayor Raul "Boy" Masangkay sa mga pangunahing usaping tinalakay sa 53rd Regular Session ng Sangguniang Bayan ng Mamburao, July 27.

Sa pamumuno ni VM Masangkay bilang Presiding Officer, patuloy na nagiging produktibo ang Sangguniang Bayan, maaasahang legislative body at mahalagang katuwang ng administrasyon ni Mayor Atty. E-K Almero sa pagpapatupad ng mga programa at proyektong pangkaunlaran ng bayan.

Kabilang sa mga pangunahing tinalakay ang rehabilitasyon ng Mamburao Public Market, Memorandum of Agreement sa Blue Alliance, pagtatalaga ng parking area para sa mga TODA, suporta sa mga Farm-to-Market Road, pagtatayo ng Micro Fuel Station sa Brgy. Balansay, at akreditasyon ng Purok Pag-asa TODA bilang Civil Society Organization.

Sa usapin ng kalusugan, seguridad, at kaayusan, ipinagpatuloy ang pagtalakay sa panukalang pansamantalang pagpapatanggal ng helmet at face mask sa mga papasok sa mga establisimyento bilang hakbang laban sa kriminalidad.

Pinag-aralan din ang mga ordinansa kaugnay ng dengue fogging sa BJMP, water potability testing, donasyon ng medical laboratory equipment, pagbabakuna, mental health, at Water Safety Plan.

Tinalakay rin ang reclassification ng lupa sa Brgy. San Luis para sa planong Mega Sports Complex ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Occidental Mindoro, ang implementasyon ng "Gulayan sa Bayan Project" katuwang ang Department of Agriculture, at ang integrasyon ng Puricon Integrated School.

Samantala, sa usapin ng enerhiya at badyet, tinalakay ang kasunduan sa Occidental Mindoro Electric Cooperative, Inc. (OMCPC), pagbubukas ng trust accounts para sa mga pondong may kaugnayan sa enerhiya, pag-endorso sa 15.04-megawatt DMCI Power Plant sa Brgy. Tayamaan, at ang pag-aaral sa panukalang 2026 badyet ng Barangay 4 at Barangay 8.

Ayon kay VM Masangkay, nananatiling nakatuon ang Sangguniang Bayan sa pagbuo ng mga polisiya, programa, at proyektong makatutulong sa patuloy na pag-unlad ng bayan ng Mamburao.

Sa loob ng maraming taon, bihirang maging destinasyon ng mga residente ang Mamburao LGU Compound. Madilim ang paligid sa gabi, kulang sa ilaw, at walang maayos na lugar na maaaring tambayan o pagpalipasan ng oras.

Ngayon, unti-unti nang nagbabago ang mukha ng munisipyo. Mula sa dating tahimik at madilim na bakuran, isa na itong maaliwalas na pampublikong espasyo na may mga ilaw, upuan, at maayos na landscaping na maaaring pasyalan ng mga mamamayan.

Sa Facebook post ni Mayor Atty. E-K Almero noong July 22, ipinakita niya ang kauna-unahang pagkakataon na ganap na naliwanagan ang buong Mamburao LGU Compound sa gabi. Aniya, “𝘗𝘸𝘦𝘥𝘦 𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘺𝘢𝘭. 𝘜𝘯𝘵𝘪-𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘪 𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘶𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨.”

Naisakatuparan ang proyekto sa pamamagitan ng pagtutulungan ng tanggapan ni Mayor Almero, Vice Mayor Raul Masangkay, at ng Sangguniang Bayan, na naglaan ng kinakailangang pondo para sa pagpapaganda at pagpapailaw ng compound.

Positibo ang naging pagtanggap ng mga residente, batay sa mga komento sa social media. Marami ang nagpahayag ng kanilang paghanga sa malaking pagbabago ng munisipyo.

TOKYO, Japan (July 29) — The death toll from the powerful magnitude 7.1 earthquake that struck Japan's Kumamoto Prefecture has climbed to at least 13, as emergency crews continue searching for survivors trapped beneath collapsed buildings and a heavily damaged shopping mall on the southern island of Kyushu. The earthquake struck on July 28, with its epicenter about 20 kilometers (12 miles) south of Kumamoto City, triggering violent shaking across Kyushu. Japan's Meteorological Agency recorded the quake at magnitude 7.1, while the U.S. Geological Survey measured it at 6.8 due to differing calculation methods. Rescue operations remain focused on the severely damaged Aeon Mall Kumamoto in Kashima, where an explosion believed to have been caused by a gas leak preceded a partial structural collapse. Major manufacturers, including Sony, Honda, TSMC, and Tokyo Electron, temporarily suspended operations at facilities in the region while damage assessments continue.
