A viral incident involving a Malaysian photographer has sparked intense debate online after he issued a public apology and paid RM500 in compensation to his clients for eating food at their wedding reception without prior permission.
​The photographer, known online by his social media handle , shared a statement on Threads detailing the event, which took place during a wedding ceremony for his clients, "Haziq & Safia," on Sunday, July 19.

​In his initial post, admitted his oversight and expressed genuine remorse for consuming food at the reception without an explicit invitation or approval from the hosts.
​"I would like to sincerely apologize for my mistake while on duty at the wedding event of Haziq & Safia on Sunday, July 19. I admit that I took food without an invitation or permission from my clients. I realize that this action was wrong and should not have happened," he wrote.
​He further clarified that, as requested by the couple, he paid compensation for the food and posted a public apology while keeping the clients' personal details private.

​As the story gained traction, social media users questioned why the compensation amount was set at RM500, with many calling the figure unreasonable for a single meal. In a follow-up post, the photographer clarified that the client did not specify a set fee, but rather criticized him repeatedly—both in person immediately after the event and later via text messages—emphasizing that providing food was not included in their terms and conditions (T&C).
​"I paid RM500 out of my own pride because I had never been reprimanded so severely before. I felt extremely guilty, so I offered RM500 as a gesture of genuine regret and apology," he explained, adding that he chose to pay the sum quickly to settle the dispute and move on.
