There was a time when Genorangan was simply a quiet upland barangay in Lagonoy, Camarines Sur.

Its scenery had already begun attracting road trippers by 2021, and in recent years, cafes and view decks have given travelers another reason to make the climb. The road takes you away from the usual roadside café setting and into a quieter landscape of rolling hills, farms, and mountains.

And among the places helping put Genorangan on the map is Tierras Altas Cafe--where the view isn't just part of the experience; the view is Genorangan itself.

In a relatively short time since opening, it has become a destination for coffee drinkers, road trippers, and motorcycle riders exploring the Partido area.

Tierras Altas Cafe is a view deck, farm, and cafe rolled into one--a place where you can linger, take photos, enjoy a cup of coffee, and simply take in the surroundings.

The cafe offers a budget-friendly menu highlighted by all-day breakfast silog meals and freshly baked pizzas.

Visitors can start their day with classic breakfast favorites or enjoy all-meat pizzas alongside hearty rice dishes and group platters. For drinks, the cafe serves everything from its signature Hot Spanish Latte to premium matcha, milk teas, and fruit juices—all priced affordably for a scenic pit stop.

Tierras Altas Cafe is open daily from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, giving you plenty of time to catch the crisp morning mountain air or enjoy a scenic sunset over the hills of Camarines Sur.

Sometimes, all you need is a good cup of coffee, a cozy place to sit, and a little time away from the usual rush of life.

Just about a 5 to 10-minute drive from Naga City, you’ll find The Unplug Nomad Cafe along the national highway, tucked inside the Shell Canaman Complex in San Agustin, Canaman.

The “Nomad” name seems fitting.

What started with tents, pop-ups, and events in 2024 eventually found a permanent home in August 2026, giving coffee lovers a place to settle in, stay awhile, and simply enjoy the moment.

Unplug Nomad Café is open daily, serving coffee and food from as early as 10 AM until 11 PM on most days.

Their coffee menu goes beyond the usual Americano and Latte, with choices like Spanish Latte, Butterscotch Latte, Matcha Ube Halaya, Biscoff Latte, Salted Caramel, and Tiramisu Latte. They also serve Vietnamese-style coffee, including Vietnamese Egg Coffee.

For food, there’s plenty to pair with your drink—from their famous Guacamole Chicken Wrap, Bahn Mi, nachos, fries, sandwiches, pasta, and rice meals.

Perhaps that’s really what the name Unplug is about. Not necessarily escaping somewhere far away, but simply giving yourself permission to pause for a while.

So, if you’re around Naga and looking for a short coffee drive, Canaman is worth exploring—and The Unplug Nomad Café is one place you can add to your list.

Just a few steps from the BIR office in Talisay, Camarines Norte, KSL Sweets is a cozy, homey coffee shop and bakeshop perfect for quick coffee breaks, client meetings, or a relaxing merienda.

Founded in 2015, KSL Sweets originally began in Manila, named by a mother after her two daughters' initials. After the pandemic, the family returned home to Talisay, brought their baking equipment with them, and opened this welcoming cafe right across the People’s Park.

KSL Sweets specializes in beautiful, customized cakes for birthdays, baptisms, graduations, and other milestones. Local favorites include the rich Chocomoist Cake with whipped cream frosting, the Mango Chiffon Cake topped with fresh fruit, and their popular Bento and Cutie Cakes—perfect for smaller celebrations or everyday cravings.

To complement the sweets, the cafe serves a wide range of coffee, milk-based, and fruit-based drinks, including their refreshing Iced Spanish Latte. You can pair your preferred drink with freshly baked cupcakes, brownie bites, banana muffins, croissants, or slices of cake.

What caught my attention was its spacious and relaxed atmosphere. There’s a good mix of seating--from bar seats and sofas to regular tables and outdoor spots. Upstairs, a cozy mezzanine lounge with floor cushions adds a laid-back tambayan feel--making it easy to stay a little longer.

For food and drinks, they serve hot and iced coffee, frappes, soda drinks, waffles, sandwiches, and both solo and group meals.

For sharing, try their signature dishes like Golden Calamari, Salted Chicken, and Pork Sisig--good picks when you’re catching up with family or friends.

You’ll find Crossbean Cafe along Bagasbas Road and just right beside the Borabod Barangay Hall.

They’re open seven days a week: Monday to Saturday, 11 AM–11 PM, and Sunday, 2 PM–11 PM.

Spacious, relaxed, and easy to settle into, Crossbean Cafe is another café worth discovering in Daet.

Aveday Brew & Savor, or just AVEDAY, is a pretty new cafe in Daet, Camarines Norte that quietly opened last July 30, 2026.

It didn’t take long before people started noticing it for its clean, laid-back vibe. The place feels simple and chill—somewhere you can slow down, grab a drink, take a break, or just let time pass a bit easier.

The name “Aveday” itself carries a personal touch, as it was coined from the names of the owners’ three lovely daughters. What started as their mom’s love for coffee eventually inspired the family to put up a café of their own. Their father, who once worked as a chef overseas, also drew inspiration from his family and culinary journey, blending both love and passion for food into the identity of the cafe.

It is located at the University Plaza Building just right across 7-Eleven. It’s also conveniently located right beside La Consolacion College, making it an easy stop for students and visitors in the area, and near key Daet landmarks like the St. John the Baptist Parish, Provincial Capitol and The Freedom Park, so it’s easy to drop by during a quick town stroll.

Beyond coffee, Aveday has a nice mix of drinks and comfort food. They serve milkteas, non-coffee beverages, pasta, sandwiches, and their signature chicken wings in different flavors.

It works for pretty much any mood—whether it’s a quick coffee run, catching up with friends, or just enjoying a relaxed meal while wandering around town.

What makes it even more inviting is the balance of comfort and productivity. They’ve got fast WiFi, board games you can use, and cozy seating—regular tables and chairs on the ground floor, plus a mezzanine with a more relaxed feel. It’s easy to settle in for some quiet work, group study, or small hangouts.

If you’re looking for a nice place to spend time, this spot is definitely worth checking out.

While I was walking along Ateneo Avenue last weekend, I came across this charming little café with such a lovely façade—an old apartment just two blocks from the Ateneo campus, with a cozy al fresco area. Really nice design, I thought.

When I stepped into the air-conditioned space, I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by the young owner, Roselle. You can really tell she’s hands-on with the day-to-day operations.

She shared the story of BABU Coffee & More.

First thing I asked was, “Why BABU?” Turns out, it’s the nickname she and her boyfriend call each other.

It all started in 2019 with just bottled drinks, sold online through simple meetups and deliveries, mostly handled by her.

She had a local job in the food industry, so BABU had to take a break for a while. But when the pandemic hit, she decided to go back to the passion she had started and relaunched BABU.

At first, she shared a small space with her mom’s sari-sari store along Ilang-Ilang Street in Naga City Subdivision.

Half of it became her first physical store, and later on, she turned the whole area into a bigger, more inviting space near Mother Seton Hospital, which is just a minute’s walk from the parking area.

I’ll definitely drop by and take photos of this branch on my next visit to Naga City.

From there, BABU kept growing—joining events, setting up pop-up coffee corners, and even opening two branches outside Naga. But in the end, she decided to bring everything back home.

And now, here it is—her second branch on Ateneo Avenue.

BABU Coffee and More is open daily and serves what my friends also said was the best Mango Tapioca in the city, which was pretty much the same reaction I got when they found out I visited BABU.

BABU also serves good coffee, matcha, and specialty drinks. They’ve got all-day breakfast, sandwiches, pastas, specialty plates, and rice toppings too.

Let’s wander back to 2017 at Bag of Beans Main Branch in Tagaytay — all seen through my lens.

Originally a cozy garden café, it has grown into a spacious and polished spot, all while keeping the same warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Founded in 1998, Bag of Beans grew from a small, homey café into a well-loved restaurant destination. The main branch along Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway remains the heart of the brand, known for its relaxing garden vibe, good coffee, freshly-baked goodies, and comfort food.

Now with multiple branches — Main, Athena, Charito, West Lake (Twin Lakes), and Summit Ridge — Bag of Beans continues its legacy in Tagaytay.

From Tagaytay to California — Bag of Beans has expanded beyond the Philippines, with its first U.S. location in Chula Vista, California, at Village Walk at Eastlake.
