Student Leaders of GMVCC-Libmanan Strengthen Leadership Skills Through 2026 Training Seminar
Student Leaders from different Departments, Organizations, Class Officers, and School Publication Staffs gathered at the Governor Mariano E. Villafuerte Community College–Libmanan Gymnasium on October 2, 2026, for the Leadership Training Seminar 2026 with the theme, “Lead with Purpose, Inspire with Action.”
The seminar aimed to strengthen the leadership skills of student officers and equip them with knowledge and values necessary to effectively fulfill their responsibilities as student leaders.
The program began with the welcome remarks of SAS Coordinator Ms. Michelle Doblon, who shared an inspiring message with the participants. She emphasized that being a leader involves knowing how to guide and work with the people they serve. She also reminded the student leaders to always wear their proper uniforms.
Following the welcome remarks, SSC Adviser Mr. Aquilino Deborde expressed his appreciation to the students who participated in the seminar. He emphasized that the activity was an opportunity for student leaders to learn and develop their leadership skills. He also encouraged students, including fourth-year students who may have busy schedules, to continue serving and fulfilling their responsibilities as student leaders. He reminded them to have the courage and commitment to perform and stand by the positions they have accepted.
The morning session focused on financial accountability, with Program Head of Bs Entrepreneurship Ms. Reina De Luna discussing the proper handling of organizational funds. She emphasized that every peso must be properly accounted for, recorded, documented, and reported. She also presented the four pillars of financial accountability—Plan, Authorize, Document, and Report and the importance of integrity, accountability, responsibility, and accuracy in managing organizational funds.
The afternoon session featured BTVTED Electrical Program Head Mr. Alvin Ceriola, who discussed the role and meaning of leadership. He emphasized that leadership goes beyond having a title or position and is demonstrated through impact, influence, and inspiration. He also discussed vision, service, active listening, and empowerment, emphasizing that “Position gives authority, action earns trust.” Mr. Ceriola encouraged student leaders to listen to understand, empower others, and help develop more leaders.
Continuing the afternoon session, Mr. Jhon John Belaro discussed writing and documentation skills essential to student organizations. He covered the preparation of Minutes of the Meeting (MOM), letters, project proposals, and accomplishment reports.
Mr. Belaro explained that Minutes of the Meeting document important discussions, decisions, assigned responsibilities, and actions taken during meetings. He also discussed proper letter formats and emphasized the importance of planning the message, following the correct format, writing clearly, and reviewing documents before finalizing them.
The activity concluded with the closing remarks of SSC President Mr. James Mc Laureene O. Calmante, who thanked the student leaders from different departments, organizations, classes, and school publications for their participation in the training.
The Leadership Training Seminar 2026 served as an opportunity for student leaders to gain practical knowledge in leadership, financial management, communication, documentation, and organizational responsibilities helping them become more prepared to lead with purpose and turn their responsibilities into meaningful action.
