SSC CONDUCTS MITING DE AVANCE, STUDENTS CAST BALLOTS IN AFTERNOON ELECTION

The Supreme Student Council (SSC) held its Miting de Avance on August 7, 2026, at the school gymnasium, giving election candidates the chance to present their platforms and answer student questions before the official voting took place that afternoon.

Students, teachers, and school officials gathered to hear the candidates’ proposed programs, projects, and plans of action for Academic Year 2026–2027. Each candidate explained how they intend to address student concerns and contribute to the betterment of the school community.

SSC Coordinator Sir Aquilino C. Deborde emphasized that being a fourth-year student is not a hindrance to serving the institution. He encouraged all learners to seize leadership opportunities and contribute to the school’s development regardless of their year level.

During the open forum, students raised questions regarding the candidates’ qualifications, leadership experience, and commitment to service. Aspiring leaders responded by sharing their background and outlining concrete measures they will implement if elected.

Following the Miting de Avance, the official voting proceeded in the afternoon. Students cast their ballots to select new student leaders who demonstrate responsibility, dedication, and a genuine desire to serve the entire student body.

Rooted in Faith, Guided by Purpose: CMO Strengthens Spiritual Bond in August Activity

The Campus Ministry Organization (CMO) conducted its scheduled monthly Mass and Fellowship gathering on August 5, 2026, at the Governor Mariano E. Villafuerte Community College (GMVCC)–Libmanan.

The morning Mass was held at the college grounds and was attended by students, faculty, and staff. It was sponsored by the Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTED) major in Electrical Technology and the Future Electrical Educator Student Society (FEESS).

In his homily, Rev. Fr. Samuel O. Bersabe emphasized the true meaning of sacrifice—for both students and parents. He reminded the learners that while they may be in relationships, their top priority remains fulfilling their duties and focusing on their studies. Doing so, he said, will secure a bright future and serve as the best way to honor and repay all the sacrifices their parents make for them.

Following the Mass, the CMO continued with its monthly Fellowship at the 3rd Floor Function Hall. Ma’am Marifer Comia led the reflection, focusing on John 3:16—“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” She highlighted that this verse captures the very heart of the faith: that God never turns away nor abandons anyone, regardless of who they are or what they have done. His love and mercy remain constant, and all that is asked is a sincere heart willing to turn back to Him.

The gathering became even more meaningful as several students shared personal testimonies—telling of how God guided them through difficult times and how a simple prayer turned into answered blessings and life-changing moments.

The activity was held with the core purpose of strengthening and deepening everyone’s personal connection with God. Through prayer, reflection, and shared stories, the students were reminded that keeping close to God gives them strength to stay true to their duties, wisdom to make the right choices, and assurance that they are never alone in their journey. It serves as a gentle reminder that a life rooted in faith guides every sacrifice toward purpose, and every effort toward a future filled with hope.

Signal No. 1 up over northern Camarines Sur as Tropical Depression moves nearby

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 is raised over the northern portion of Camarines Sur as Tropical Depression slightly intensifies east of the Bicol region, PAGASA said in its 5:00 AM advisory today, August 2.

Affected towns include Caramoan, Presentacion, Garchitorena, Lagonoy, Tinambac, Siruma, Goa, San Jose, Tigaon, and Calabanga. Strong winds and scattered rains are expected, with minimal to minor risks.

PAGASA noted Signal No. 2 may still be raised, while the Southwest Monsoon will bring stronger gusts over exposed coastal and upland areas. Residents are advised to stay updated and prepare for possible hazards.

Financial Literacy Seminar Empowers GMVCC Entrepreneurs, Encourages Responsible Banking

“Small Steps, Dream Big”

With the collaboration of the Entrepreneurship Department and LandBank Sicopot, the Financial Literacy Seminar with the theme “Empowering Future Entrepreneurs Through Financial Literacy, Innovation, and Resilience” was successfully conducted at Governor Mariano E. Villafuerte Community College (GMVCC)–Libmanan on July 30, 2026.

Attended by first‑year to fourth‑year Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship students, the activity was organized primarily to encourage aspiring entrepreneurs to open their own bank accounts. Resource speakers thoroughly discussed the step‑by‑step process of account opening, required documents, and the vital role of proper banking in building a strong foundation for their future business ventures. They also highlighted key advantages of having a LandBank account, such as convenient online transactions and the option to open an account entirely through digital channels.

Ms. Reinna M. Deluna also encouraged the students by emphasizing that running a business is not just about earning income but making sure earnings grow steadily. She shared the line “Small Steps, Dream Big”, explaining that opening a proper bank account is one of those essential first steps that helps them manage funds wisely and build the habit of saving toward their business goals

In essence, the seminar was designed to accompany and support the students throughout their entire journey as future entrepreneurs. It aims to provide them with the practical knowledge and financial discipline that will serve as a reliable foundation as they start, manage, and grow their own businesses. By guiding them toward proper banking and responsible money management early on, the activity ensures that every aspiring entrepreneur is well‑equipped to face challenges, make sound financial decisions, and turn their business aspirations into sustainable reality.
