The University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi, previously called Aquinas University of Legazpi, is a Catholic university in Legazpi City, Albay.
Also known as the Dominican University of Bicol, UST-Legazpi started on June 8, 1948, when Don Buenaventura de Erquiaga founded Legazpi Junior Colleges in a small two-story building at the corner of Rizal and Mabini Streets.
About two years later, the school moved to the Peñaranda Campus on Peñaranda and Gov. Forbes Streets, renamed Legazpi College, and began offering elementary, secondary, vocational, tertiary, and graduate programs.
