Katagman Festival 2026 brims with vitality in the Municipality of Oton, Iloilo from April 29 to May 3, celebrating the town’s rich heritage and enduring legacy. ✨

Anchored on the theme “Ipabugal ang Bulawan nga Tamung Manggad sang Oton: Manggad sang Nasyon,” the festival highlights Oton’s cultural treasures as a source of pride not only for the community but for the nation.

Katagman Festival serves as the Ogtonganon’s way of preserving their history while commemorating Oton’s 454th founding anniversary as the first and oldest pueblo in Panay, established on May 3, 1572.

Derived from the ancient name of a nose-shaped islet once surrounded by the Batiano River, “Katagman” reflects the town’s deep historical roots, linked to “Irong-Irong,” which later became known as Iloilo.

Through cultural showcases and community activities, the festival stands as a tribute to Oton’s identity, heritage, and lasting contribution to the region.
