Our city is built upon a framework of invisible lines. This month, the Umbrella - Iligan's Joint Photographers Society is officially challenging you to make those lines visible. We are looking for images that discover the secret architecture and the unexpected patterns that define our urban spaces. From the rigid symmetry of facades to the repeating shadows cast in an alleyway, find the math both in the architecture and in street. Show us the city's hidden grids.
We have refined the rules this month to keep the competition pure and centered on focused vision. Please review the rules and regulations below:
1. The contest is open to all photo enthusiasts, from hobbyists to professionals. However, only interchangeable lens digital cameras (DSLR or Mirrorless) are allowed.
2. All entries must be the original work of the entrant. A maximum of three (3) entries per entrant.
3. All entries must adhere to the theme. Architecture and street photography must be the core subject. Entries must be taken within June 8-30. Past works are not accepted.
4. Submit your entries via email address: [email protected]. Please, include your name, the title of your entries, and a short caption for each of your entries.
NOTE:
• Use the "Attach" (paperclip icon) function to preserve your EXIF data. Avoid drag-and-drop or transferring files via mobile phones, as these methods strip vital metadata.
• Entries will be automatically disqualified if EXIF data is missing.
• Submit files in JPG with a 3:2 aspect ratio. Square, 16:9, or any type of aspect ratios are prohibited.
5. A registration fee of ₱50 is required. Please, secure first your registration and payment before participating in the contest.
NOTE: Make sure to keep your transaction receipts for the registration fee to validate your entry!
7. Photos may be color or black & white. Basic post-processing (cropping, color correction, contrast) is allowed, but composite images or heavy manipulation will be disqualified.
8. Submissions are open from June 8 to June 30, 2026. Late entries will not be accepted.
9. Entries will be evaluated online by a panel of respected photographers and artists. Top 3 winners will receive a cash prize.
10. No exploitation of vulnerable individuals. No AI-generative filling or background swapping.
11. Participating entries must not be posted, shared, or displayed on any social media platforms until after the final contest winners have been announced. Entries found to have violated this rule will face immediate and permanent disqualification. We seek fresh, unseen works.
12. Entrants retain all rights to their photos, but by entering, you grant Umbrella - Iligan's Joint Photographers Society a non-exclusive license to use the submitted photos for contest promotion and exhibition purposes.
