Archer
Closeup shot of a tiny Spitting Spider (Scytodes sp.) that we found blended on a tree bark. This also marks my first encounter with them and boy was I in awe and disbelief.
They are the only creature on planet earth that spits deadly silk from their fangs, which pin down and immobilize their prey. Talk about long distance efficiency. Even more unique, unlike most of their cousins, they only have six eyes.

Cuckoo
My first ever documented encounter with a Cuckoo wasp (approx. 4mm long) and I'm hoping not my last.
These are definitely one of my, if not my only, favorites from the wasp group, due in fact by their beautiful coloration and their clever behaviors.
In hindsight, I would have wanted to be able to have shot a deeper depth of field on this one and include the eye which is supposed to be the sharpest, but I only had a very brief window of opportunity until my beautiful subject flew away.

Huntsman
A closeup of a Huntsman spider, losing one of its legs and a pedipalp, from what I think is an unfortunate encounter with a hungry lizard.
Unconsciously, this has now been my 3rd consecutive spider post here in IG. This probably shows just how fascinated I am with these eight-legged invertebrates. P.S. I still love you, insects.

Mother
A closeup of a Long-bodied Cellar Spider (Pholcus phalangioides) with her future spiderlings.
These spiders are a common sight during my childhood and just ignored them because of how widespread and common they were back then.
Only recently during my macro journey did I really start to appreciate their beauty and relevance, especially now that they seem to be harder to find.

Enlightened
A very cooperative jumping spider that I found last December 10, 2019, settling on a spider plant leaf.
In hindsight, I should have taken more photos of this one, especially from a top-down angle, so I could have a better chance at identifying its species.
