A Medical Outreach Program was successfully conducted in support of SPES Camp 2026 with the theme โ€œ3 Days, 1 Mission: Learn, Connect, Care,โ€ providing basic health services, consultations, and wellness education to participants and community members, including Indigenous Peoples (IPs) who were among the target beneficiaries of the activity.

The activity was graced by PESO Manager Leonile Escarpe, Hon. Allan Carampatana, Chairperson of the Committee on Labor and Employment, and Barangay Captain Quillobe, whose support highlighted the importance of collaboration in promoting community health and well-being.

This initiative reflects the shared commitment of PESO, local government officials, partner agencies, and stakeholders in fostering youth volunteerism, public service, and a healthier community.

Through the collaborative efforts of the NCIP Regional Office XI, the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur, and the Municipal Tribal Council of Padada, educational assistance was successfully extended to Indigenous Peoples learners in preparation for the opening of classes.

Conducted the Free and Prior Informed Consent (FPIC) activity for the Department of Education Digos District regarding the processing of the Deed of Usufruct for the proposed school site located within the ancestral domain of the Bagobo Tagabawa communities in Barangays Kapatagan and Binaton, Digos City.

The activity was attended and supported by the Indigenous Political Structure (IPS) leaders headed by Hernan Ambe, Celso Salaysay, Baerna Malang, Arlene Carso, and Bayby Jerlin Owok, together with the Tribal Council.

During the consultation, the IPS and Tribal Council expressed their full consent, cooperation, and strong support for the establishment and continued utilization of the school site, recognizing its importance in promoting accessible education and development for the community while upholding and respecting the rights of the Indigenous Cultural Communities within the ancestral domain.

The Bagobo Tagabawa community led by Bae Arlene Carso and Montefrio Garden Resort, represented by Executive President Renante Salazar, officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the resortโ€™s expansion and future developments.

On May 22, 2026, under the DA-MIADP Component 3 AD-Entrep Program, Orient Integrated Development Consultancy Incorporated conducted an orientation for the Jose Rizal Indigenous Peoples Association. One of the pilot beneficiaries of the AD-Entrepreneurs Program.

The proposed โ‚ฑ31 Million enterprise focuses on Husked Nut and Robusta Green Coffee Beans (GCB) production, consolidation, processing, and marketing.

The Department of Agriculture, through the Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project (MIADP), conducted a three-day Capacity Building and Organizational Strengthening Workshop for the Indigenous Political Structure (IPS) of the Unified Bagobo Tagabawa (UBT) on May 20โ€“22, 2026, at Hotel de Elisa, Digos City.

The activity gathered 27 Barangay Tribal Chieftains from the UBT Ancestral Domain and focused on strengthening leadership, organizational management, and institutional governance. Discussions included the status and guiding principles of MIADP implementation, operational standards, the Indigenous Strategic Action Plan (ISAP), case analysis, and the Community-Based Monitoring and Evaluation Tool (CBMET).

The workshop enhanced the tribal leadersโ€™ understanding of MIADP programs and reinforced their vital role in promoting community participation and sustainable development within the ancestral domain.

During the Stakeholders meeting, including Indigenous Peoples (IP) leaders and SK chairpersons, held at Pilar Navidad Function Hall, Municipality of Magsaysay.

The activity strengthened collaboration in addressing nutrition concerns among IP communities, promoted culturally responsive nutrition programs, and highlighted Republic Act No. 11596 on the prohibition of early child marriage.

Discussions also focused on the current nutrition status of the municipality and the importance of unified efforts in protecting the health and welfare of Indigenous Peoples.

Launching of the 2nd School of Living Tradition (SLT) in Brgy. Jose Rizal, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur โ€” a meaningful step in preserving the culture and traditions of our Indigenous Peoples.

Facilitated by the Municipal Tourism Office and supported by San Miguel Corporation through a โ‚ฑ200,000 grant for tribal attire sewing materials and embroidery training for 20 IP women and IP youth.

NCIP Provincial IP Women/Youth Focal, Ms. Joanne Dumangas, also shared plans to prioritize funding for sewing machines to support the groupโ€™s sustainable livelihood and cultural preservation efforts.
