july 2, 2026.

as i was lost in my own thoughts, i happened to come across a post that said,

"i might tell the trees about my stress, they're known for making peace."

and maybe it was never about the trees
or the air they quietly cleanse.
maybe it's because they stand,
never rushing to defend.

they listen without asking,
they hold what we cannot release.
not because they carry answers,
but because they become the bridge to peace.

perhaps that's the beauty of them,
not the leaves, nor roots beneath,
but how they remind us that healing
sometimes comes through something that simply lets us breathe.

for peace has never lived in trees alone,
they're only where our burdens cease.
the miracle was never in the branches,
but in finding something that lets the aching ease.

huwag maliitin ang mga "minsan."
sapagkat hindi naman
palaging "palagi" ang humuhubog sa buhay.

kung minsan,
ang isang tahimik na sandali,
isang munting pahinga,
o isang munting pag-asa,
ang siyang nagiging dahilan
upang muli tayong maniwala.

at kung may dapat itago sa puso,
marahil,
iyon ang mga "minsan"
na nagpapaalala
sa atin na kaya pa pala.

they tell us that hard work is the answer.

then why are the farmers—the very hands that feed this nation—the ones who remain hungry?

they rise before the sun, surrender their bodies to the soil, and entrust the earth with hope. yet every harvest seems to belong to everyone but them.

this is no longer the failure of effort.

it is the failure of a system.

for no amount of labor can flourish where injustice has already taken root. capitalism has taught us to measure profit before people, while those in power watch a nation bleed from its fields.

and perhaps that is our greatest tragedy:

not that our people refuse to work,

but that they continue to work within a system that has never truly worked for them.

talo ang masipag sa bulok na sistema ng pilipinas.

ang hirap mong mahalin, pilipinas.
