Today is Maundy Thursday. Maundy comes from the Latin mandatum novum, meaning a "new commandment" & is associated with Christ's words in John 13:34 "A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."

Although our world seems to be overflowing with hatred and fear, we can remain hopeful knowing God's perfect love drives out fear. During this Holy Week may we breathe in deeply of God's perfect love, revealed through the death and resurrection of His One and Only Son, and may the Holy Spirit fill us with the power to love one another as Jesus Christ loves us.

As 1 John 3:16 says, This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.

Together let us worship the Lord, remember the Last Supper, reflect on Good Friday, and look forward to Easter Sunday with the hope and love of Jesus Christ!
