After 3 long years of silence, distance, and no communication, life finally gave me the chance to reunite with someone who once meant so much to my younger days, my high school best friend, Alyssa Mae Gambon Ruiz. And somehow, after all those years, still the same happy girl, with that contagious laugh, effortless humor, and the kind of joy that instantly feels so familiar. Seeing her again felt like reopening one of the most beautiful chapters of my life, a chapter I never truly forgot. So much has changed, and we’ve both grown in different ways, but in those precious hours we spent together, it felt like no time had passed at all. We had so much chitchat, endless laughter, and in just the shortest time, we somehow tried to make up for all the conversations, memories, and moments we missed throughout those 3 years apart.
Thank you for your time, Alyssa even for the shortest moment. Please know that no matter how much time or distance separates us, you are always in my thoughts. I always think of you, and you will always be my Alyssa. Some friendships may go quiet for years, but the real ones never truly fade, they stay in our hearts, unchanged, waiting for the right moment to remind us how special they truly are.
