Every tree that gets cut down for "development" isn’t just losing greenery. It's stealing 30 degrees of livability from everyone who walks that street for the next 50 years.

Trees do more than just decorate our streets, they protect us. They cool the air, improve our health, and create spaces for people to connect. When we tear them down for development, we’re sacrificing more than shade, we’re sacrificing our quality of life.

We need better urban planning that doesn’t just focus on buildings and roads, but also on the spaces where people live. Cities should be designed to nurture life, not just build it. Trees are an essential part of that. They make neighborhoods livable, help fight the heat, and improve our well-being.

It’s easy to feel powerless when we see so many trees being lost, but the truth is, each of us has the power to make a difference. Start small, plant a tree, take care of the green spaces around you, or encourage others to do the same. Every tree we nurture today is a step toward a cooler, healthier future for everyone. It doesn’t take much to create change in your own community, and that’s where it starts.
