Last week, spoke to my client for the first time. 74 years old, sharp businessman; and somewhere in the conversation, he casually mentioned he does paintings as a creative outlet.
Then he said something like, "just create something. It doesn't matter if you're good at it or not".

Funny how a random comment from someone you just spoke can bring you back to yourself. That's exactly why I got into photography in the first place, not to be great at it, just to make something.

Street photography has this quiet tension: crop or no crop.

Some people treat their photos like a contract, what you saw is what you show. No adjustments, no second chances. It is about discipline, timing, and getting it right in the moment.

Others see the frame as a starting point. They crop, refine, and shape the story after the fact. For them, it is less about strict authenticity and more about expression and freedom.

Both approaches say something about how you take your photos, either you chase precision, or you embrace interpretation.

I remember this travel photography workshop I went to a while back. The speaker asked us, “What kind of traveller are you? Casual traveller or photography-first traveller?” That question stuck with me before our trip.

A total of 68k steps, waking up early, walking back late, and more 7-eleven runs than actual proper meals. Just quick snacks, water, repeat. Priorities, I guess 😄
