🌿🌏 DENR-CENRO Cantilan Leads Tree Planting for International Day of Forests, World Water Day, and Earth Hour 💧💡

In celebration of the International Day of Forests, World Water Day, and Earth Hour, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO) Cantilan, under the leadership of OIC, CENR Officer Gay Arreza Paniamogan Resullar, spearheaded a tree planting activity on March 21, 2025, at the DENR-CENRO Cantilan Demo Farm, Brgy. Adlay, Carrascal, Surigao del Sur.

The event brought together 106 participants from government agencies, private sector partners, and academic institutions, including the Tourism Office of LGU Carrascal, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) Carrascal, Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary, Philippine National Police (PNP) Carrascal, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Carrascal, Carrascal Nickel Corporation (CNC), Kafugan Mining Incorporated (KMI), CTP Construction and Mining Corporation (CTPCMC), Marcventures Mining and Development Corporation (MMDC), 4D Ventures Development Incorporated (4DVDI), and NEMSU BS Criminology Interns.

A total of 251 indigenous tree seedlings and 230 bamboo propagules were planted, reinforcing the vital role of forests in global food security, climate resilience, water security, and biodiversity conservation.

This collaborative effort highlights the unified commitment of DENR-CENRO Cantilan and its partners to protecting and restoring forests, contributing to a healthier planet and a more sustainable future.
