SEPTEMBER 18, 2026 — The Candelaria Local Government Unit (LGU) launched the “Kampanya Kontra Droga at Kaharasan” campaign at The Lady Mediatrix Institute, Inc. (TLMII) Gymnasium, featuring discussions led by Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) Focal Person Mr. Arvin De Claro and Philippine National Police (PNP) representative.

The event kicked off alongside the school’s morning offerings, with the seminar starting with a short voting poll that assessed the experiences of the whole high school community in accordance to the theme of anti-drug addiction.

Shortly after, Mr. De Claro then discussed the causes, effects, stages, and prevention of drug addiction, raising students’ awareness of its risks and consequences.

The discussion was reinforced through an interactive activity involving student volunteers who reenacted situations depicting societal challenges to help participants better understand the issues presented.

Afterwards, a speaker from the PNP discussed bullying and harassment with the students, focusing on their signs, types, and ways to prevent violence.

The seminar concluded as an eye-opener for the students to remain vigilant and informed about the dangers of drug use and bullying, contributing to the goal of maintaining a peaceful and safer community.

SEPTEMBER 10, 2026—The Lady Mediatrix Institute, Inc. (TLMII) athlete Ian Samuel T. Abdon kicked his way into Palarong Quezon 2026 as he represented Candelaria in the Taekwondo Category 4 event held at Lopez West Elementary School, Lopez, Quezon.

Abdon opened his Palarong Quezon 2026 journey on a winning note, defeating Tiaong in the opening match and setting his sights on the championship.

He carried his momentum into the second match, overcoming Sariaya to secure another win and advance to the semi-finals.

Maintaining his winning streak, Abdon defeated Mulanay in the semi-finals, earning his place in the championship bout and moving closer to the coveted gold medal.

In the finals, Abdon faced Lucban in a hard-fought battle but fell short of the championship, claiming the silver medal for his outstanding performance.

As he closes his final Palarong Quezon journey, Abdon’s silver-medal finish stands as a testament of his unwavering determination, leaving a lasting legacy of pride for The Lady Mediatrix Institute, Inc.

𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐖𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

September 10-11, 2026— The perseverant swimming team of The Lady Mediatrix Institute Inc. (TLMII) dives their way into the Palarong Quezon at Quezon National High School in Lucena City, representing Candelaria with their spirits high and their heads held high.

Starting off strong with the women’s individual events, Emmy Lou C. Baja competed in the 400m freestyle relay, obtaining 7th place while Jilienne Zoey Isles earned 8th.

Meanwhile, Rein Ann C. Brucal attained a 9th place in the 100m freestyle relay, at the same time clinching a 5th in the 200m freestyle relay.

Tallying up the awards in the women’s relays, Jeri Alysa Robles achieved 9th place in the 50m freestyle relay.

For the team events, Baja, Isles, and Robles competed in the 4x50m freestyle relay, gaining 5th place, and later on successfully achieving an overall 4th place in the 4x100m freestyle relay.

As for the men’s, crowds watched as Cerohn Bragga D. Amo swam the 4x50m freestyle relay, securing overall 6th place, while Al Jehanz B. Tabas acquired the same rank for the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay.

From tryouts, to constant training, all the way up to Palarong Quezon, the TLMII swimming team once again showed their skills and continuous dedication, demonstrating how no golden trophy can compare to what the Crusaders truly gained.

SEPTEMBER 8-12, 2026— The Mediatricians ignite the dance floor in the Bulwagang Balagtas as they represent Candelaria in the 2026 Palarong Quezon Dance Sports Competition, held in Atimonan, Quezon.

The Couple Bracket 3 Latin American duo: Antonio Miguel B. Liwag and Eriel Marie M. Lozano left a mark on the floor, unleashing glamorous moves and maintaining synchronized movements, making them earn a quarterfinal spot in Single Dance Samba, Cha-cha, Rumba, Paso Doble, and Jive, while also securing another in Grade A (5 Dance Category).

Along with them, Couple Bracket 1 Latin American tandem Calvin John V. Gutierrez and Jaiscel Ann D. De los Reyes followed through with their impressive skills and determination gaining a quarterfinal slot and finishing as Grade D Quarter Finalist.

Also shining on the floor, Solo Bracket 2 Latin American Gloria Jessica B. Bernal captured Grade C quarterfinal position, and her counterpart, Iarah Nazneen N. Liwanag put up a commendable effort in the elimination round. Nevertheless, both dancers exhibit mesmerizing stunts and impressive ex*****on.

With every turn, step and beat, the Mediatricians demonstrated that dancesport is not only a competition, but a foundation of discipline, passion and determination—proof that through hard work and perseverance, anyone can reach the Palarong Quezon stage. This might be the last year of some of them, but this is a testament that passion can take you to the place you once dreamt of.

SEPTEMBER 8-12, 2026 — TLMII athlete Miracle Santrina Cambel showcased determination and athletic prowess in Palarong Quezon 2026 as she represented Candelaria in track and field events held in Atimonan, Gumaca, and Plaridel, Quezon.

In Atimonan, Cambel and her teammates delivered a strong performance in the 4x100-meter relay elimination round, securing first place as they demonstrated coordination and teamwork on the track.

Meanwhile, in Gumaca, Quezon, Cambel’s speed was tested as she competed in the 110-meter hurdles elimination round, finishing fifth against competitive athletes.

In Plaridel, Quezon, Cambel completed the 2-kilometer Walkathon elimination round, demonstrating perseverance despite not securing a ranking.

While the results varied, Cambel’s determination across every venue showed that true victory lies not only in the podium, but in the courage to compete and finish strong.

SEPTEMBER 11-12, 2026—Hernandez refused to let the pressure get to her as she fought through six straight victories in the Table Tennis Palarong Quezon at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines–Perez, Quezon, earning her a spot in the Regional Athletic Association Meet (RAAM).

From the start, Hernandez came out strong with her quick attacks, fast pace, and powerful serves, claiming three straight 2–0 victories against representatives from Infanta, Gumaca, and Mulanay, setting the tone for her unbeaten run.

With every point bringing her closer to the title, Hernandez carried her momentum into the next round, outplaying Macalelon, 2–0, in the quarterfinals before taking down Agdangan, 3-0, in the semifinals to secure her place in the championship match.

With the gold just one match away, Hernandez stepped back onto the table for the finals against Pagbilao and showed no mercy, completing another 3–0 sweep to secure her sixth straight victory and the championship.

Not even surrendering a single set—Hernandez’s run was more than just a winning streak; it displayed her sportsmanship, courage, and determination to fight for every point as she carried TLMII to the regional stage.

September 12, 2026—The Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) members from The Lady Mediatrix Institute, Inc. (TLMII) joined more than 500 scouts from different schools in commemorating the 128th birthday of GSP founder Josefa Llanes Escoda and the 16th Long Green Line, held at Sta. Catalina Central School (SCCS).

The celebration opened with a processional march, entrance of colors, the National Anthem, and the Girl Scout Promise and Law, followed by an inspirational message from SCCS GSP Adviser Novelinda A. Panganiban, who motivated all the scouts.

The main event started with Escoda Day Ceremony, where scouts offered their flowers and coins as expressions of remembrance and gratitude for Escoda’s legacy.

Scouts also learned how to defend themselves by understanding the basic taekwondo techniques as part of the event’s emphasis on preparedness and self-defense.

The event was followed by activities dedicated to their respective rank—Twinkler, Star, and Junior Scouts showcased their creativity by accomplishing a piece of artwork within the allotted time, while the Seniors and Cadets demonstrated writing skills by creating their own poems.

In the afternoon, the scouts participated in a film viewing of Anne of Green Gables wherein several members shared their reflections and key takeaways from the film, and it was concluded with the distribution of badges to the participants.

Although the event lasted only a day, the TLMII scouts embraced it as an opportunity to demonstrate preparedness, cooperation, and determination while strengthening their bonds with fellow scouts from different schools.

SEPTEMBER 10, 2026—Jherone Louis Gonzales delivers a commanding three-peat win that shook Lopez West Elementary School, landing blow-for-blow, punching a ticket to fight at the Taekwondo Kyurogi Regionals.

Despite being a 6th grader only, the young star proved to be a force to be reckoned with—dominating the competition against Burdeos, Sampaloc, and Lucban of the Kyorugi Boys-Category 1.

Gonzales notably marked the mat against Lucban, despite a nerve-wracking three-set match that brought him to tears and to his limit, he continued to fight on and plucked the decider.

As he enters the Regionals, he carries on the same momentum, with a raging fire of strength and determination surging within him—a testament of his fighting spirit.

SEPTEMBER 9, 2026—Candelaria Football Team (TLMII) endures Polilio in a thrilling Palarong Quezon Knockout Stage, pressing a 4–4 draw, shocking the stadium at the Lopez Comprehensive National High School.

Polilio secured an early point lead but was soon evened out to 1–1 by Candelaria’s striker, Ysaiah Fernandez. It wasn’t long until Polilio scored again through an unforced error to edge Candelaria, keeping up the tension by halftime at 2–1.

Although some players appeared disheartened, Candelaria was revitalized by the unwavering support of their bench, coaches, and parents, carrying their newfound momentum going into the second half.

In the last five minutes of the game, Candelaria sunk two goals through the efforts of Vrent Gonzales and the initiative of Ysaiah Fernandez, followed through by Jameson Gerrity’s crucial goal in the last moments of the game and the exceptional defense of goalkeeper, Darrell Mallorca, ending the game at 4–4.

The result wasn’t possible if not for the combined efforts of Paul Gustilo, Nythanniel Caneo, Corry Masula, Kien Rasay, Maverick Cruz, Hans Ona, and Kurt Octoman; the unsung heroes of the team.

With the game forced to a draw, the Candelaria Football Team will face Atimonan Football team tomorrow, with the aim of winning so that they will advance to the quarterfinals.

SEPTEMBER 6, 2026—Gumaca, Quezon was stunned as the young student journalists of The Lady Mediatrix Institute, Inc. (TLMII) fought in the annual Division School Press Conference of 2026, held at the Gumaca National High School, bringing home several medals through their passion in responsible journalism.

Spearheading the competition was Arnold Brando M. Mandolado, Brendon Jakob Y. Bernal, Lance John M. Ramos, Lheona Julia P. Medrano, Samatha Louise G. Ramirez, Julianna Drew B. Liwag, and Jaime Donice B. Legitimas, exerting a team effort and plucking third place Best Radio Script, Secondary English.

Having a keen eye in the visual category, Elizah Jasmin G. De Villa placed 4th in Photojournalism English. Rooted from her skill in capturing the most important moments, she took photographs and images while telling a story that extends far beyond what the naked eye can recognize.

Another reason to celebrate is Marthyna Glaize A. Pabellano’s fifth-place finish in Editorial Writing in Filipino. Writing an editorial means sharing opinions on important issues in a way that is fair and convincing, and through these values, she showed a deep understanding of topics that matter to the community.

The whole Mediatrician community extends its congratulations to the writers; not just the winners, but to each and every one who participated in the event, proudly representing the institution and the publication. Their efforts remind us that with practice and passion, no mountain is too high to reach, as they leave a path to follow, dictating a brighter future in the next challenge that awaits.
