Every time we travel, i proudly say, ''I'm a proud Filipino."🇵🇭❤ And I'm always proud when people recognize the Philippines as a beautiful country with talented, hardworking, and resilient people.
We Filipinos have so much to be proud of. We have world-class athletes who bring honor to our country, from the legendary Manny Pacquiao to the new generation of champions like Alex Eala. We have proudly represented the Philippines on the world stage of beauty pageants, with queen like Gloria Diaz, Pia Wurtzbach, and so many others who have carried our flag with grace and pride.🏆
But there is also a painful side to being Filipino. Sometimes, our country is looked down upon because so many Filipinos have to leave home and work abroad as domestic helpers and in other jobs just to provide a better life for their families. There is absolutely no shame in honest work-the shame is that many Filipinos have to leave the country because they cannot find enough opportunities at home. I have also seen with my own eyes how many Filipinos work incredibly hard in other countries, leaving their families, enduring difficult jobs and long hours.😥
The Philippines is not a poor country in potential. We are rich in natural resources, talent, hardworking people, culture, and beauty. What we need is good leadership, honest governance, and leaders who truly put the Filipino people first.
It is heartbreaking to see a country with so much potential being held back by corruption and leaders who put personal interests above the nation.
Imagine what the Philippines could become if our resources were protected, our taxes were used properly, and our leaders truly served the people.
We keep electing people, hoping they will change our country, only to watch corruption, poverty, and inequality continue. Meanwhile, ordinary Filipinos work hard, pay taxes, leave their families behind, and sacrifice so much just to survive.
Our country deserves better.
We have the talent. We have the resources. We have the people.
What we need is leadership with integrity.
Because the Philippines can be more than a beautiful country we proudly talk about when we travel. 🇵🇭
