Some cities slow down as the day comes to an end. Cagayan de Oro tells a different story.

Here, life moves to a rhythm of its own — vibrant, relentless, and alive at every hour. From the first movements of the morning to the intensity of the afternoon and the glowing streets of the evening, the city carries an energy that never truly fades.

As daylight approaches its final moments, the urban landscape transforms beneath the changing sky. 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟰 — 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬 𝗕𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗡.

𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟰.
𝟭𝟮:𝟮𝟴 𝗔𝗠.
𝗖𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗼.

On a night wrapped in heavy rainfall and a bagyo, a new chapter quietly began.

The photographs you see were captured during a heavy-rainfall night in 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, just before the month came to a close. They were not captured at the exact same midnight or at exactly 12:28 AM when 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝘄𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝗙 was born. Instead, they return to the 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆—𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆—𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘆 𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁.

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘅 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝟵, turning a small and humble smartphone camera into the instrument through which this rainy-night story was brought to life.

After 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆, I am finally back in 𝗖𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗼.

And coming home in 2026 feels like returning to the opening scene of a story that never truly ended.

Known as the 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, Cagayan de Oro is more than a place on the map. It is where memories were formed, friendships were made, and the roots of a dream were first planted.

Around 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗼, that dream began under a simpler name:

“𝗦𝗵𝗮𝘄𝗻’𝘀 𝗩𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼/𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆.”

What started as a small beginning eventually became 𝗦 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻—a growing production built from a passion for photography, cinematography, storytelling, and preserving moments that deserve to live beyond a single frame.

And today, another milestone enters the story.

𝗘𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆.

Eight years behind the lens.
Eight years of chasing light.
Eight years of capturing people, places, movement, rain, cities, and memories.
Eight years of transforming moments into images that become part of the story.

From the city where it all began, the journey continues.

𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵. And standing here again, surrounded by memories of rain and city lights, I am reminded that some stories never truly leave their beginning.

They simply return to it.

And the vision continues to grow beyond a single generation.

𝗖𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗼. 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

The city enters a different frame.

A veil of haze settles across Cagayan de Oro, softening the skyline, swallowing the distance, and turning familiar streets into layers of shadow, light, and atmosphere.

Day fades slowly.

The city remains in motion—
𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀, 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗻, 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗶𝗹, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿.

Everything feels closer and farther at once.

The architecture becomes silhouette.
The roads become reflections.
The lights become fragments.
And the haze becomes the atmosphere connecting them all.

From the last traces of daylight to the glow of the night, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁—quiet, distant, atmospheric, and almost dreamlike.

When the sun goes down, 𝗖𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗼 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗴𝗼 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁.

It simply changes.

The lights come on.
The streets begin to glow.
Cars move through the avenues, people cross beneath the city lights, restaurants fill with life, and the spaces that seemed ordinary during the day begin to take on an entirely different character.

This is 𝗖𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗼 𝗮𝘁 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁.

Not just the buildings.
Not just the roads.
Not just the lights.

But the movement between them.

From the calm intersections and tree-lined streets to the brighter, busier corners of the city, every frame captures another moment in the rhythm of the night. Headlights become streaks of motion. Storefronts become pockets of warmth. Pedestrians become passing silhouettes. And the streets themselves become the stage.

After a month marked by 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 and lingering 𝗵𝗮𝘇𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀, Cagayan de Oro finally broke the silence.

On 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the city was suddenly swallowed by 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀—a dramatic shift from the extreme heat that came before.

For a moment, the atmosphere transformed: the skies darkened, the rain poured, and the city moved beneath nature’s overwhelming force.
