The First Encounter
While freediving for Morris and Michelle’s anniversary shoot, I nudged some surface algae and a red hairy shrimp jumped out. Thrilled by the discovery but unable to photograph it with my wide-angle lens(canon 8-15mm), I anchored the algae to a mooring buoy in hopes of finding it again.

After a few missed opportunities to photograph them over the weeks, my patience finally paid off. Today, August 8, 2026. I spotted a beautiful Two-Band Hairy Shrimp or Banded Hairy Shrimp (Phycocaris sp.) swaying quietly on top of a leaf. (1 of 2)

On a night dive in just three meters of water, I found the smallest octopus, perfectly still in his domain. I was tempted to nudge him for a better angle, but true beauty is best captured undisturbed.

Micro-adventures in a macro paradise! Met a pair of tiny Evelina’s Bubble Snails (Lamprohaminoea evelinae) exploring their very own underwater jungle. Measuring under a centimeter long (around 4–8 mm), these minuscule critters blend so seamlessly into algae-covered rocks and seagrass that you'll miss them completely unless you're explicitly looking for macro marine life.
