Two years ago today, memories of Tropical Depression Odette hitting Dinagat Island are still vivid. As part of the CHD Caraga team and with the PDOHO PDI Team, we journeyed there for the Bayanihan Bakunahan, aiming to bring hope through COVID-19 vaccinations. Little did we anticipate the havoc that Odette would unleash. With no network signals, no electricity, and no water, hopelessness crept in. But we clung to our unwavering faith in God, believing in the passage of this storm. Determined to remain steadfast, we went about our daily tasks, trying to project a sense of normalcy. In the midst of chaos, we were the bearers of hope for the community.

Different medical teams (Private and Government) from various regions in the Philippines united, extending their efforts and passion to serve. We faced challenges, but we turned them into opportunities to grow and strengthen our resolve. These trials in life became lessons in resilience. Today, we look back with gratitude for the experience, knowing that our efforts, no matter how small, made a difference. Let this be a reminder that even in the face of adversity, hope, faith, and resilience prevail. 🌈💪
