It’s long overdue to post about this Vietnam wedding of my friends, Jilson and Alyosha… but hey, better late than never 😂 I promised myself I’d still share this even if it’s already been a year ago.
Years ago, Vietnam was their first out-of-the-country trip together, where they made a simple promise: “One day, we’ll come back here and get married.” Last April 2025, they finally did 🥹
They got married at in Hanoi — a peaceful retreat place away from the crowd. The whole day was simple, intimate, no over-the-top glam shoots, and full of genuine moments.
Together with my good friends, We**ie and Kiko from .jpeg (the official photographers 📸), we did our best to capture everything even though they didn’t hire a videographer. Honestly, the day already felt cinematic on its own.
I had so many favorite moments that day.
First was Alya’s morning walk rehearsal. The moment she started walking, her mom instantly cried… and honestly, I got emotional too 😭 It really felt like the moment everything finally sank in.
Second, the first look. The second Jilson turned around and saw Alya, he cried immediately. And honestly… maybe that’s the moment it really hits you: “I’m about to marry the love of my life.”
Third, the speeches from their friends. Super heartfelt, super genuine, and definitely not safe from tears 😂
And lastly… Jilson’s karaoke moment during the reception HAHAHA.
We also got to spend time with Alya’s family, Jilson’s photographer friends, and his cyclist friends — and it honestly just felt like one big family gathering with extra emotions and good food.
Weddings like this are extra special when you personally know the couple. You’re there to document the day… but somehow you also become part of the memories 🥹
Hoping we get to witness and capture more weddings like this again soon. 🤍
