In my 10 years as a photographer, I’ve covered numerous events throughout my career and had the opportunity to meet and personally witness many important people both locally and on the national stage from famous TV personalities, renowned musicians to politicians , senators, and even former Presidents of the Philippines.

But yesterday’s assignment may be the highlight of my entire photography career. I may not be a particularly religious person, but I felt truly blessed and honored to be one of the few photographers given the opportunity to cover the arrival of Archbishop Charles John Brown, the Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, during his brief visit to the City of Borongan for the blessing of the newly constructed Priests’ Home, which will serve as a retirement home for the priests of the Diocese of Borongan.

Thank you to the Diocese of Borongan for the opportunity. To Cath, Justine, Louie, and all the people behind the media team, it has always been a privilege working with all of you.

We woke up very early this morning to witness the famous “Sea of Clouds” in Brgy. Hebacong. Although the fog wasn’t as thick as the last time we went (perhaps because of last night’s weather) the effort was still, I can say, very much worth it, especially the moment we saw the clouds covering the nearby mountains.

The cold breeze and the stunning view paired perfectly with the coffee and salukara we brought.

Kudos to the City Government of Borongan for the beautifully built new viewing deck. This will surely attract not only local tourists but also visitors from other provinces and cities. Hoping this project is well maintained and lasts for a long time, so more people can enjoy the beauty of this place.

Seeing these giant lanterns, towering christmas trees, and christmas lights brings out the child in me, and it brings back a soothing feeling that words can’t even explain. Coming here feels like stepping into a time machine, bringing me back to my 90s childhood when simple christmas lights were enough to make kids happy. It saddens me that I have to travel just to feel that kind of joy again.

I personally want to give credit to all the people behind this initiative. Even though life is difficult, for a few minutes I truly felt the spirit of Christmas. Even with many problems, those small moments made things feel lighter, and even for just a few seconds, I was brought back to the child I once was.
