Abra- A distinct characteristic of Tingguian is their predilection for beauty and simplicity. Their traditional attire is not as elaborate and colorful as those worn by their kalinga neighbors: however, austerity does not sacrifice the craftsmanship as it represents a deeper connection with their traditions. The lower garment of tingguian men is called ba-al; it is made of woven cloth predominantly white color. Head dresses vary from simple bark band called ayabong to for sophisticated ones, like a bamboo hat with a low dome-shaped top, or a turban like head cover with a long piece of cloth with the ends falling on the man's shoulders. All of this pieces was made from a traditional fabric called piningitan or bankudo an age old craft that takes months to complete.
