NEWS UPDATE: The Department of Transportation has approved the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board’s recommendation to implement the fare hike that was suspended in March, according to acting LTFRB Chairman Greg Pua.
Based on the approved fare hike, P1 will be added to the current minimum fare for jeepneys, and an additional P2 for every succeeding kilometer.
New minimum fare for jeepneys effective Monday, Sept. 28, will be:
First 4km: P14 (from P13)
Succeeding km: P2 (from P1.80)
New minimum fare for modern jeepneys effective Monday, Sept. 28, will be:
First 4km: P17 (from P15)
Succeeding km: P2.40 (from P2.20)
