This is Mendy, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel we rescued in 2023. 💔
The day we found her still breaks our hearts.
She had spent her life chained inside a dirty bamboo cage outside her owner’s home. It wasn’t a home to call. It was a place where she was forgotten. Rain or shine, she stayed there, neglected and alone.
By the time we rescued her, Mendy was in heartbreaking condition. A large tumor hung from her belly. She was severely anemic, her fur was badly matted and tangled, and painful lumps had formed around her eyes. Her gums were almost white from blood loss, and every step she took showed just how exhausted her little body had become.
The diagnosis was devastating. Mendy was suffering from three blood parasites—Ehrlichia, Anaplasma, and Babesia. On top of that, she needed surgery to remove the tumor and correct cherry eye in both eyes.
But Mendy never stopped fighting.
She endured surgery, medications, blood tests, and weeks of treatment at the veterinary clinic. Slowly, the dog who had known nothing but neglect began to heal.
Today, Mendy is one of the happiest residents at BACH Silong. The frightened dog who once lived in chains now greets every new rescue with a wagging tail, as if she knows exactly what they’re feeling. She reminds us every day that love can heal wounds that once seemed impossible to overcome.
Mendy’s story is proof that no animal is too sick, too broken, or too forgotten to deserve a second chance. Sometimes, all they need is someone willing to believe they’re worth saving.
