In 2009 when Tim purchased his 1st underwater compact camera, the advice anyone could give him was to buy strobes and upgrade into a bigger underwater camera set-up to get better photos. It was a time when it wasn't about teaching techniques or exploring settings, but about buying , upgrading and changing equipment to get better results. The game of upgrading was too expensive and beyond the means

of an island based dive instructor, so Tim started to explore and develop his own comprehension of how his little camera worked. More than 7 years later, some of his methods are now practiced as norm, when years back some of the big camera companies would write Tim to ask "How is this even possible on our cameras"? Tim's method of teaching is simple to understand as it was self-developed thru a dummy's eyes, making the transfer of knowledge as easily understood as it is explained. His works have been published globally in some of today's most prestigious dive publications, displayed at underwater photography exhibitions internationally while he is sought after as a coach and speaker at dive shows and photography dive destinations in the region. His methods and compact camera techniques are some of today's reference materials used and shared by underwater photography trainers when teaching about compact camera use, while some of his earlier works are still often used as benchmarks of what to strive to achieve when shooting with a compact camera.
