The Daily Portraits

The Daily Portraits Live. Capture. Relive. We live to preserving your most heartfelt moments so you can feel them all over again, daily, for a lifetime. Like a lot!

AJ & Erik, are a hybrid photographer and videographer couple based in Pampanga, Philippines. They specialize in timeless portraitures such as weddings and coming of age. But they also offer other services within portraiture such as fashion and lifestyle, & milestones. Their style represents a Western way of storytelling (European & American) and focuses on capturing the expressions, emotions, and

intimacy of their clients as naturally as they are. They really take the time in color grading to incorporate natural and rich colors even during more challenging scenarios such as same-day edits so that their clients can easily relive the moments in the photos and videos as if they were just there yesterday. Both of them are hybrid shooters as they both shoot the photo and the video. They only use top-of-the-line Sony equipment to deliver the very best quality of outputs to coincide with their creativity, as well as maximize efficiency. You'll be in for a shock in knowing how much ground can they cover in spite of being just the two of them for most of the time. AJ was previously a full-time flight attendant and loved taking pictures of herself and her crewmates while vlogging their adventures. Being based in Clark, Pampanga, where there are plenty of parks, she would approach couples to take Instax pictures, for having a knack for reliving romantic moments that she sees in watching K-Dramas. Meanwhile, Erik has spent the last decade in Europe and Asia being a well-established fashion and lifestyle photographer working mostly with models. It all changed when the pandemic struck. AJ's flights were frozen and couldn't travel and had shifted to an office-based role. Erik decided to finally come home to check on his parents with the intention of traveling all over the country once the restrictions were eased. On one Sunday, with a stroke of luck, the two met while biking around Clark. Having the same interest in photography, AJ came to learn that Erik is actually a professional photographer using one of the most high-end gears available. Initially, AJ plotted to convince Erik to pass down his knowledge of photography as an excuse to spend quality time together. She would soon realize it was what she was longing for and decided to take a leap of faith with her first client with the assurance of having Erik by her side. She really enjoyed the entire experience, while having the client surprised with the outputs. This eventually led to more clients, eventually developing her own style. But it was when she finally convinced Erik to not go back overseas and stay with her in the country to take photos together instead, that she decided to quit her job and become a full-time photographer, thus leading to the creation of The Daily Portraits. AJ, the primary videographer, specializes in couple photography. Not only that you'll find it very easy to feel comfortable with her, but she's probably the most spontaneous photographer that you'll ever meet as she can effortlessly think of endless creative poses on the fly, bringing out the intimate side of the couple, and capture their moments naturally. Expect lots of butterflies in your tummy when she's around. Be warned, for as long as time permits, she'll never run out of such things to do for the couple. But she's probably one of the most fun and spontaneous photographers that you'll get to work with and will bring out the best in the couple throughout the shoot, regardless of the couple's personality. Erik, the primary photographer, comes from a background of various photography disciplines: from landscapes to portraits (you name it!), before eventually settling down to being a fashion photographer. Because of such, he is probably one of the most well-rounded photographers that you'll ever know, and is prepared for any scenario. He is all about having a picture-perfect image. He will ensure that everything is perfectly considered first (lighting, composition, angles, camera settings) before taking the shot. But given the quickest reactions required from his streets, sports, and wildlife background, Erik had transitioned this into being a wedding photographer and easily became a master of taking candid shots, taking the shot at the very right moment, capturing all of those timeless expressions never missing a moment, and already anticipating for the next one, while all happening in a split second. You'll just see him running around. When working together, AJ primarily focuses on the storytelling aspect of the shoots, while Erik takes care of the moments and expressions. They may seem quite the opposite when it comes to their philosophies, and in fact, you may find them challenging each other on a shoot, which is just normal. It is one of the ways they keep their craft continuously evolving. For it is when their best traits are combined, it becomes a recipe resulting in their unique craft, that's very fun and efficient.

It’s been 3 years since we spent a dime on ads.
And somehow, not a single day has gone by where our inquiries completely went silent.

One thing we never take for granted is asking every couple, “Where did you find us?”

And so often, the answer is:

“I just saw your post.”

Every time, I still sigh with a little bit of disbelief and gratitude.

Because it reminds us that every little that we do matters.

Not because we’re chasing that one money shot. Not because every post needs to go viral. But because somewhere in the simplest photographs, someone sees themselves. They feel something. They resonate with the story, the connection.

For us, that means more than any advertisement ever could.🤍

Pass sa tropa.
You know that kind of love you thought only existed in the movies? Turns out, it can happen in real life.

No amount of soul-searching in Siargao or escaping to Zambales can make it disappear. Because sometimes, no matter how far you run or how hard you try to avoid it, the love that quietly grew somewhere along the way is still there.

All this time, kung saan-saan ka pa tayo naghahanap pero minsan hindi pala natin namamalayan matagal na pala nating kasama. ✨❤️

The hardest question to answer is, “What’s your photography style?”

Because every wedding deserves a different approach.

What matters most isn’t the label—documentary, editorial, candid, or traditional. It’s how comfortable you are with the person behind the camera.

That’s the part people often overlook.

The best photographs don’t happen because someone told you to smile. They happen because you trusted the person documenting your day enough to let your real emotions unfold.

My style isn’t about fitting your wedding into one category.

It’s about reading the room, knowing when to guide, when to step back, and creating a space where your story can happen naturally.

Because in the end, people won’t remember how many poses you did they’ll remember how your wedding felt. And that’s the story worth preserving.

The very definition of through thick and thin. Always together, as love is worth fighting for.
