Why is it that Melanesians in Papua New Guinea, - people born of freedom live a life that feels so much like punishment. outside of the normal activities of survival, we are subjected to high tax, fewer opportunities, no public amenities, no medicine in hospitals etc

What did we do to deserve this life of punishment? Are we being punished for not fitting into the western lifestyle? Why should we aspire to fit into an alien culture and subject ourselves to a hard life?

On repeat - Esther Pacifica - Mangi West Papua

In my opinion, Esther Pacifica has turned a the brightest spotlight on West Papua for the new generation PNGeans, than all other efforts undertaken down through history. She showed through her music - that West Papua is a young man, modern, and a potential love interest which is contrary to what others have shown West Papua as old, primitive, and still living in forests in tree houses and eating grubs and getting murdered by military from Indonesia.

Change is the only constant in the world today. The man who refuses to change becomes irrelevant in time. It's a law of life. Seasons change, children become adults, the body starts breaking down at birth, and we all have a use-by date. Likewise, opportunities have a use-by date. Seize it or miss it. The best we can do is to build the children to cope with the future. How can we do that? Build them to be comfortable with change, by being an example of fearlessness in front of change. Be adaptable because life moments are transient. Seize the moment. Water will continue to flow around an obstacle. Life will continue after we are no more. while we still have consciousness, I say, go with the flow, relax, enjoy life, do the things that make you happy, love your family, and make good memories. Know when to exit the institutions, the institution will not matter when come face-to-face with death. From dust we came to dust we will return. Only your family will remember that you mattered at all.

The strength of conviction is the mainstay of progress. The convicted have become one mind, they are focused on the beauty of their dreams. Even the bible states that the pre-requisite for progress is death to self. In other words, the ego becomes secondary to pursuing the beauty of a dream. A society in which everyone is focused and attending to their convictions is a society that is developing.

Your purpose in life is firstly to develop the potential that God has placed in you, then 2ndly to serve your community using that talent. An education encourages reading and arithmetic. We mistakenly attribute how good we are at reading and writing to our talent. While it may be true in some instances, the reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are tools to help you better understand and apply your talent. Your true potential can only be released through introspection and experience aka trial and error. That is why wise people say fail forward and fast. Only then will you discover what comes naturally to you so you can develop it to better serve your community.
