Something I Learnt This Week 🇵🇬 ( correct me if I am wrong)

It was interesting to learn how the famous Asaro Mudmen look and culture came about. According to legend, after defeat in battle, the warriors hid in river mud overnight.

At dawn, they rose covered in pale clay through the mist, appearing like spirits to their enemies, who fled in fear.

It’s fascinating how something so simple became the foundation of one of Papua New Guinea’s most iconic cultural traditions.

The Longest Serving Hunter-Jaasiel Tilto.

His journey with Valley Hunters began in 2009 when he debuted for the U20 side. From there, he grew into a leader, guiding the U20s to two Grand Final victories and laying the foundation for a long career with the club.

Over the years, he’s stepped away at times and gone quiet, but he never truly left. He never wore another jersey. Valley Hunters has always been home.

On his return to the senior squad, JCL quickly became a key figure in the forward pack, eventually taking on co-captaincy duties. Known for being one of the loudest voices on the field, his leadership lifts standards, even if that loud mouth needs censoring now and then. Don’t doubt the belly either. That’s a solid pack built for work.

Before settling into the forwards, he once played scrum-half, and some days he still thinks he is. He also has a way of being adopted by every coach that comes through the club.

His leadership helped secure Premiership titles in 2024 and 2025. Now, with a third title in sight, the focus shifts to 2026.

Same club.
Same colours.
Same commitment.

A true part of Valley Hunters history.

It’s been a bit quiet on this page, but this is the kind of moment IGP Visuals is about.

A throwback to the 2025 Capital Rugby Union Grand Final between Valley Hunters and Brothers. The game was hard-fought, but this was after the final whistle, when both teams crossed paths on the way back to the locker rooms.

At the top centre are the Sabathas, two blood brothers on opposing teams. Different jerseys, same blood, same respect. Moments like this remind me that rugby has always been more than just winning or losing.

This is the kind of storytelling I enjoy capturing. Real moments, real people, and respect for the game. More of this to come from IGP Visuals. Wouldn’t be surprised if these two meet again in another Grand Final.

After all this years, I finally found the confidence to put a face to the name, therefore I’d like to formally introduce myself.

My name is Immanuel Gideon Paul, and IGP visuals comes from my name. I’m a young freelance photographer running this page as a one-man show, driven by passion rather than fancy equipment.

I shoot with a Canon EOS 200D, edit mainly on Lightroom Mobile, and occasionally create short video edits and highlights when time allows. No fancy equipment, just a 200mm lens and my eyes. 😁

You’ll usually find me at Bava Park, the kela guy scouring the sidelines whenever the Valley Hunters Rugby Union Club are playing.
I WAS A RUGBY PLAYER BEFORE😂....but while the mind is ready, the body has other plans, so these days I’m focused on finding the best angles instead.

The biggest challenge is quick editing, and the "pulim nus" complaints when I don’t send photos IMMEDIATELY after a “just for fun” shot.

With 2026 ahead, I’m still learning, still creating, and just getting started.
