Existence without engagement is only a passing of time, not a participation in it. To be conscious, to feel sharply, to think deeply, to act with intention... this is where life actually takes place.

A long life can still be empty if it is lived on autopilot. And a short one can be full if it is lived awake. The real measure of life is not how long we remain here, but how present we are while we are. How much we dared to feel, to notice, to respond before time quietly closed the door.
