Join us for one of Papua New Guinea’s most spectacular cultural and marine traditions, the Wokisok Festival of the Sea, proudly hosted by the communities of Kono and surrounding villages along the West Coast of Namatanai New Ireland Province.

✨ Festival Highlights Include:

The world-renowned Shark Calling Ceremony – an ancient and sacred practice involving chants, shell rattles, and handcrafted canoes used to lure sharks from the deep.

Traditional dances (sing-sing), storytelling, canoe parades, and seafood feasts.

SME exhibitions and artisan showcases – a celebration of coastal entrepreneurship and cultural sustainability.

🎤 Special Guests:
We are honoured to confirm that Prime Minister, the Honourable James Marape, will officiate the opening of the festival.
Also joining us is The Honourable Belden Norman Namah, Minister for Tourism, Arts & Culture, whose strong advocacy for cultural tourism and local economic development is helping put Papua New Guinea on the global tourism map.
