Photographed the hisroric Les Deux Magots this morning, and the team were good enough to let me in while they were setting up for the day also.
Artists, philisophers, poets, musicians have all mingled here. Love Paris.

Great to see Moko Artspace featured in the latest issue of Coromind Magazine.

Moko has long been a special creative space at Hot Water Beach, showcasing the work of artists from around New Zealand in a beautiful courtyard and gallery setting near the coast.

I’m grateful to have my work represented there alongside many other talented New Zealand artists. If you’re visiting the Coromandel, it’s well worth stopping in.

The Mercury Bay Art Escape is back this March.

Over the first two weekends (7–9 & 14–16 March, 10am–4pm), more than 50 artists from Pauanui to Whangapoua will open their studio doors as part of the 2026 Open Studios Trail. It’s a rare chance to step into creative spaces and see where the work actually happens.

At the same time, Moko Artspace will be featuring work from six of the participating artists - and I’m pleased to continue being represented there as well.

If you’re in the region, it’s well worth making a weekend of it. Look out for the blue Art Escape flags marking each studio, and you can download the trail guide via mercurybay-artescape.com.

It’s a great time to experience the creative energy of the coast.

:: Dawn Stillness ::
Back in April on my South Island Autumn photo tour we arrived at this small lake in the Canterbury highlands on an especially beautiful but very cold morning. As the very first light landed on the mountains in the distance I captured this image.

Sharing these incredible landscapes and helping people capture them for themselves is what I love in doing photo tours. See upcoming tours: www.richardhumephotographytours.co.nz

📸 Artist Feature: Richard’s Landscapes in Captivating Photography Journal

We’re thrilled to share that photographer Richard Hume, one of our exhibiting artists, has been featured in Captivating Photography Journal! The article dives into his thoughtful approach to landscape photography - capturing the quiet majesty and emotional resonance of Aotearoa’s wild places.
This kind of exposure is a testament to the depth and clarity of Richard’s vision, and we’re so proud to see his work reaching wider audiences.
Richard will be bringing in new pieces soon, and we can’t wait to welcome them into the gallery. Stay tuned for updates - and in the meantime, pop in to see some of his current works on display.

::Te Mata Sunrise::
Te Mata Peak offers such a range of views across Hawke’s Bay it’s always worth a visit. But on mornings like this when there is fog in the valleys it becomes something special. This photo was taken just as the sun rose above the horizon, bathing everything in soft golden light.
