Kia ora,

Thank you to everyone for all of your support over the past 7 years. I have loved taking photos of beautiful people from all around New Zealand, Australia and India. Unfortunately, I have decided to step away from the camera and pursue other career paths, therefore I am no longer available for photography. Whangārei is full of talented photographers and I hope you are able to find the right person to capture your special moments for you.

Aroha nui,

Toni Touché

Just received a message from a local artist who was asking permission to use my photographs of his own mahi to help him fundraise for a trip. It is so so very refreshing to have someone show me and my mahi respect by asking permission first instead of just taking the photos as so many people even my own friend's do. Because it isn't a physical canvas or carving or sculpture a lot of people don't see anything wrong with taking someone else's photographs but they forget the time and effort I and other photographers have put in to those photos for them to be presented exactly how they want them. Mauri Ora to that artist who has the intregrity to respect another artist's mana. Ngā mihi 💖

Kia Ora Whānau ^_^

How are you all? Sorry I haven't been posting in a loooong time, as I do photography as a hobby rather than a full time job it tends to take a back seat in my life, that's not to say I haven't had any cool projects on the go. My most recent project was photographing a gorgeous wahine as a part of her Te Wānanga o Aotearoa - Te Tai Tokerau success story. I have also been getting back into the art scene and soaking up as many amazing exhibits I can find, luckily for us Whangarei has a huge array of talented artists and artwork to appreciate! As for family & wedding portraits I simply haven't had the time! I work at a local Kura as a Kaiawhina and my husband is a web designer for Online Designs, aside from mahi we are also parents to 2 very hands on but awesome boys and between the four of us we do 3 courses and 2 sports during the week so as you can imagine we are a busy bunch of folks!
I just wanted to say thank you to my friends and family and even strangers who are yet to become friends, I am overwhelmed by your ongoing support and aroha, and although I am on a break from paid photo work I am still receiving dozens of enquiries a week! Goes to show the amazing support you lovely people show by continuing to recommend me to others, for that I thank you!
Unfortunately I do plan on keeping my photowork on the back burner but if you really do need someone to photograph your special day or beautiful whānau head over to the Simply Beached page run by my gorgeous and talented friend Daniella, she is absolutely the bee's knees and I wouldn't recommend anyone else for the job!
Well that's all from me for now guys, thanks again for your ongoing support it is greatly appreciated, Mauri ora!

Yesterday we took advantage of the beautiful Northland weather and went on a family walk over the Peach Cove track, I have to admit my fitness is not the greatest haha so you could imagine that I was pretty relieved to find this cracker of a swimming spot at Peach Cove as our reward! The only trouble was getting back up all of those stairs again, eek my legs are twitching from the memory. :P

Hey guys I'm looking for a collab sponsor for a giveaway I want to run, if you know any individuals or salons that do great hair/makeup please hit me up. As the theme of Mental Health Awareness Week this year is GIVE I'm wanting to get people to nominate someone who really is in need of a lovely pick me up to win a package of mini makeover / photoshoot + goodies.
Perhaps we can do a his package also where we can substitute the hair /makeup for a full body massage.

As a ongoing sufferer of severe depression myself I know how much small gestures like a hug, message, smile or kind words can really mean everything in the world when you are filled with self doubt lack of self worth and all of the negative darkness that comes with mental illnesses. In this day and age the world needs more kindness without the 'harden up' ideal. Mental Illnesses are true debilitating diseases that affect everyone around us whether we realise it or not, behind the biggest smile could be the saddest heart, take care of those around you and be sure to let those you love and care about how you feel, you don't have to take them to a 5 star restaurant but something as simple as a homecooked dinner can be the kindness that really helps someone, be there and be genuine, we are all facing our own battles each day, but we don't have to fight them alone. ✊✊✊
