After a year of being postponed, we could finally celebrate the love and marriage of this great couple!

On feb 15th, Michael and I opened up a wee cafe in Paraparaumu Beach called The common room
Itā€™s been a huge ordeal - exciting, stressful, exhausting, terrifying!
When we opened, we couldā€™ve never predicted to be opening just before an event that none of us have seen in our life time.
The cafe is closed until further notice and while Iā€™m a bit deflated to say the least (what a time to start a business in hospitality!) I couldnā€™t be happier with the decision made by parliament. Our health is our first priority and closing everything down is the best way to keep our health safe and staying home is the best thing we can do to keep our families safe.
We have an incredible opportunity here to slow down if we can and remember our priorities.
I will be spending the time creating and gardening (and catching up on emails and updating websites!)
To all my beautiful clients who have been forced to postpone - this is just another story to add to your happily ever after āœØ
Looking forward to seeing what you do with your time in your bubble.

To me, family shoots are one of the most important shoots out there.
Life happens so quickly and tiny humans grow up so fast that you try not to blink in case you miss something.

This is what my family shoots look like. Very impromptu, with the kids usually running the show.
Documentary style photography by default, which is what my style of shooting is all about.
Life is messy, short and not very elegant... but in that mess lies the raw beauty. The Mama with the wind blown hair, the Dad snuggling a bubba with a grazed knee, the boy who won't drop the stick.
All of it beautiful and candid. To me, it's not just about capturing a portrait to put on your wall. It's about the story of your family and what a regular day looks like in your life. THAT is what the kids will remember.
Oh yes, yes, yes, gimme me all the family shoots.
