Kia Ora e te iwi
It’s been a long time since I last posted but I just wanted to share what a small snippet looks like in this couples love story. Candid moments. Lots of hugging. Lots of laughing and smiling at one another and kisses. + attempted cinematic drone footage.

If there’s anything I love seeing as a photographer it’s watching a husband (tāne) be fully present and involved with his wifey (wāhine) during these sessions. It makes my heart feel so happy to see a husband love on his wife and not be afraid to express his love for her in candid moments & especially in front of the camera. We did capture a few posed images but honestly I wanted this session to be more so of me capturing them in their world which consisted of them looking at each other more rather than at the camera.

Arohamai for not posting in so long! When Visuals by Jay 🌿 did an audit on my page a while ago which I’m grateful for, one of the things that stood out to me the most in her korero was not having enough information about myself on here so that people could get to know me or who the face is behind this pakihi. She was right! I barely post myself whether it be photos or videos of me on here because of my own insecurities but ehhh stuff it 😂. I put together these slides so that people can get to know me when they visit my page and maybe even relate to some things I’ve mentioned. Putting yourself out there is never an easy thing to do because there will always be people on the internet that will nit pick, judge you or troll your character but I’m slowly learning to NGAF what other people think of me. If you don’t pay my rent or any of my utilities boooy bye.

I’ve also been doing a lot of reflection lately of my mahi and know I need to improve my editing skills and gallery delivery times. There’s so many small things I want to get better at but for now those two things will be my main focus for the next couply weeks. I miss doing my mahi and love when I get to capture your guys memories. In my mind it is an honour to be the one responsible for capturing your family moments & memories or being part of the haputanga side of this mahi. I love what I do and can’t wait to get back into the swing of things. Hope you’ve enjoyed these get to know me slides. My friend will be welcoming twins into the world very soon. I’ll never forget the day she told me she was having twins. She’s carried herself so well throughout her hapūtanga journey. Carrying one child is hard enough let alone two at once! Go girl. Shes one strong mum that’s for sure and her tamariki are blessed to have ash as their māmā.

Another young whānau from our session out Rangiahua Marae 🤎

I find it so cool yet so crazy photographing whānau in different elements and stages of their lives. I photographed this whānau about two years ago and how time changes and flies and I noticed it straight away with their son he’s grown so much from our last session we had. Thank you to not only this whānau but the others who wish to keep their portraits private for entrusting me to document your whānau portraits out Rangiahua Marae, I’m truly honoured.

May I also add whilst we’re here if your ever wanting to have your photos taken by me wether it be family, couples, maternity but get put off the limited amount of locations we have in Wairoa, I’m more than willing to be creative and open minded to different locations. You don’t want to take photos at my usual location spots? that’s cool there’s plenty of Marae around here we can go to & your bound to whakapapa to one or more of them lol. Own a farm? say less that’s us in there with the long grass and animals 😝 nah but seriously I hate to admit it even I get bored of shooting at the same locations sometimes, but I’ll always put that aside if that’s what you really want.
