NZIPP - the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography BRONZE AWARD - ANIMAL CATEGORY

This was an image I entered into the 2026 IRIS Awards, just for a bit of fun! I’m not a wildlife or animal photographer, but I had this idea of whimsy styled image of snails stacked on top of eachother, and hopefully this bring a smile to people’s faces. This was extremely challenging to photograph as snails do not like to stay still 😛

It was a privilege to document the Bringing Learning to Parliament Rally on Wednesday, asking for the removal of Amendment Paper 583 from the Education and Training (System Reform) Amendment Bill.

As a homeschooling mum myself, I was absolutely elated that we were successful, and the paper amendment was removed! We were told that it was the most correspondence the NZ government had ever received from one group/community, which I’m not surprised because there were thousands of us emailing and writing leading up to the removal!

Thank you to everyone who helped organise the rally, and for everyone who supported us! And thank you to the NZ government and MPs for listening to our community, we are grateful!

Absolutely thrilled to place in the top 20 for the Photojournalism category in the .awards and 19th overall!

Little Luke came into the world quickly, and needed a bit of help after his birth. This moment captures the strong healing hands of a nurse, with the loving hand of mum gently placed on baby’s chest. In contrast the tiny hand of baby Luke. It’s a moving moment of love, and I’m pleased to report Luke is absolutely thriving!
