Happy New Year! 🎉

I’m so excited to kick off 2025 with some big updates for Accent Photography! This year, I’m bringing everything together—newborn, family, and personal branding photography—under one social media roof. It makes sense to have it all in one place because whether it’s capturing the early days of a new baby, generations of family together, or the story of your business, it’s all about preserving moments that matter, and connecting you with your clients and loved ones.

And if you're booking in for a personal branding shoot with me in 2025, I'll have an upgrade option to get family portraits done at the same time - after all if you're getting all dressed up why not take advantage of the opportunity, and get your business to pay for it as well!!

Anyone else thought this would be the year they’d have all their sh*t sorted by now?

I can’t be the only one who's looking at the calendar and going, ‘Wait… it’s HOW close to Christmas?!

I started the year with the best of intentions. I was going to be one of those people who had all their marketing for November and December done by July. My Christmas presents? Bought, wrapped, and smugly stashed away before the start of November. And yet… here we are, a week out, and I haven’t marketed in weeks, I haven’t bought a single gift, and I’m left wondering where on earth all that time disappeared to.

Honestly, it feels like December just hits fast-forward the second it arrives. And every year it gets worse!! One minute, you’re on track with all your plans, and the next, you’re scrambling to catch up while pretending you’ve still got it all under control.

If you’re one of those people who clearly does have their sh*t sorted, we seriously need to connect so I can pick your brain. Please give me any tips for someone who clearly needs a better system. Or better yet make me feel less alone and tell me you’re also in the ‘it’s fine, everything’s fine’ camp with me?

I was incredibly honoured yesterday to be presented with the member of the year trophy by my local networking group All Round Networking - ARN NZ at our Christmas party.

I love this networking group, and not for the business I get out of it (which I do get plenty) but for the people in it. As a solo business owner it can get really lonely in business and I love having a group of people who know exactly what I'm going through to catch up with each week and whom quite a few of I can now call friends. Just being able to talk business with people who get it, is worth every penny.

I've been to a fair few networking groups over the last 16 years in business and I can honestly say ARN is different. The support for each other is next level and the camaraderie and laughter keeps me going back every week.

So thank you for my trophy, it's taken pride of place on my desk and I can't wait to see what 2025 brings everyone.
